While the staff were lovely and even helped my daughter with ASD to get out of the play area when she had a meltdown... Twice, the food however wasn't great. The carvery looked good but the hottest part was the handle on the spoon used to pick my roast potatoes. All in all for 2 adult carveries and my daughters plate shown it was around £37 with drinks. I'm afraid it was not wort it.
Stayed at the Premier Inn with work so restaurant was included but would have avoided if possible. Breakfast food quality was always good but service was consistently flustered. However, an 06:30 opening with one member of staff who was literally running around wasn’t great. The mugs, plates, and cutlery were always grubby. As stated, food was good. Dinner service was always SO slow despite the restaurant being no more than 1/10 full. The food was average at best - which is fine - but you’d be waiting 20 minutes for a starter and then the main would follow 2 minutes later when it was correct. Would recommend the breakfast but avoid any other meal time. I would also recommend that some of the team find a restaurant that shows their talent, rather than just how well they can apologise. I’ve added a photo of the “piece” of gammon that came with the my mixed grill. I checked to see if this rock-hard piece of meat was the correct portion size and had it confirmed. The steak is well over-cooked from how I ordered it but I just can’t be bothered. I am grateful that I won’t have to come back.
Was really looking forward to valentine's meal out. Got there took ages to find name on booking, then had to wait at the bar to be served which was over 10minites, more bothered about the drinks being served. The food wasn't anything to write home about could have done better ourselves, or stayed at home making something ourselves. Just tasted dry and over done. I've attached photos to judge for yourselfs. I'd prefer McDonald's over all of that. And that would have been cheaper than what we paid. Absolutely one big joke of a meal and dessert definitely 100% not returning. Was very poor!.
If I could give it 0 star then I would. Ordered food as a family. 2 of us was left without our meal for about 10 minutes, Then when they finally came out my chips and onion rings were cold and my steak was still bloody even though I asked for it well done. I asked politely for the steak to go back on the grill and if they could replace the chips as they were cold. They then brought the food back out to which the chips and onion rings had just been thrown back in the fryer, they came back full of grease. Was disgusting. Not edible. Wouldn’t recommend eating here. The place looks run down and staff don’t really care about your experience or food quality. After spending £150 here on rubbish food, we definitely won’t be returning. Oh and the drinks were flat.
I would leave 0 stars if that was an option. Worst food we have ever had. Me and my wife came for a quick bite to eat. Food was overcooked and dry. Cheese topped potato dippers didn't even come with soured cream as it came late. Order had missing items as staff reports "sorry, I wasn't quite listening". Food all seemed microwaved, zero taste
Ordered smothered platter. It came with a sticker... On the pineapple. I brought it to their attention, and they just peeled the sticker off. There is still sticker goo on the pineapple the food was also very cold. Disappointed. Also... They don't have steak knives, yet serve steak. ‍Food: 1/5
Service was really slow, didn't check on table or clear it . For was lukewarm, We didnt the starter we payed for and had to ask multiple times for our desert the be bought out. The restaurant was pretty much empty so don't know why it would be taking so long. Overall was pretty bad experience and won't be spending money there again
Staff are friendly but not helpful. They failed to ask if we had been before and so didn't point out where everything was. They also failed to show us to a table and inform us that poached or scrambled egg can be ordered, as they are not on the buffet, and what to do to warm up the pastries. The restaurant was very clean and set out OK but the buffet was not kept stocked up. A wait for fried eggs, mushrooms and sausages was rather frustrating. All in all it is worth going to and I'm sure the minor issues we had are just an oversight. Parking: Disabled parking location is near the entrance of restaurant. Others can also be found outside the hotel premier inn
Good options for the vegetarian breakfast Quorn sausages, bubble and squeak and has browns which came out very promptly but properly cooked and the continental breakfast is plentiful. Kids eat for free with an adult ordering breakfast is an excellent idea too. Staff were attentive and helpful. The kids soft play area has great decor and is pretty big to keep the littuns busy and tire em out.
Our food was diabolical. 2 people had cheese and onion pie which was full of potatoes. Had absolutely no cheese and onion in the pie. The Peas were so dry, and inedible. Both Pies were left on plate , with only couple of bites taken out. . One person had chicken tikka curry. Only 3 very small pieces of chicken in the curry. Shocking food. Wouldn’t let me post a zero score.
