One of the few coves with access albeit a dangerous rope climb down this cove is a secret gateway to a forgotten world. The cove marks the boundary between Torbay and Teignbridge and is directly below the the commons plantation and sharp winding section of the A379. High rainfall has made the cliff behind unstable. The historical name is Red Rob which alludes to a shady character centuries ago who used to move his bounty up from the cove- Red Rob is border backwards. More than a coincidence perhaps.
This is a beautiful cove - all the coves along here are. However I am concerned anyone should try to access them from the coast path. I walk this section of the coast path most days. There is a high risk of cliff erosion and rock fall - I see it regularly . I only access the coves from the sea.
