The modern name is an anagram for an older name ‘Red Bag’ which has connotations with the red rock typical of this stretch of coastline and the smuggling history. The cliffs at the back are less steep and the jungle begs to be explored, this cove falls inside the Teignbridge boundary And lies below the RSPB nature reserve above. There are two large squarish rocks lying just off shore to the north which help identify the cove.
I came for the badgers but stayed for the cove.
If you like badgers and you like coves this is the spot for you!
