About

bookartbookshop features the publications of some of Britain’s best-known artist presses and publishers of artists’ books, as well as books from abroad.

Story

bookartbookshop features the publications of some of Britain’s best-known artist presses and publishers of artists’ books, as well as books from abroad. The shop is a centre and a service for individual & institutional collectors, artists, publishers and the aesthetically and bibliographically curious. It is presently a not-for-profit organisation ploughing back any profits into the improvement of the enterprise, and while it aspires to have a team of full paid staff it is still dependant partly upon volunteer labour.

As well as being a place to bring books to sell and find books to buy, bookartbookshop also presents discussions, meetings, exhibitions, a poster wall, lectures, book launches, and educational activities all focusing on the relatively inexpensive multiple book work.

We need you! You may well need us? Tell us about your publications! Come and spend your money! Support artists! Contribute to the never-ending debate about artists' books!

Fabulous bookshop devoted entirely to artist’s books and small press publications. Tanya, the wonderful founder of the shop, was a delight to talk to, and even showed us rare gems from her personal collection. The bookshop also doubles as the headquarters of the London Institute of ‘Pataphysics and should not be missed by Alfred Jarry enthusiasts. Lovely experience all around.
A bookshop like no other full of unique books many of which are made by artists it a visual paradise , check it out you will not be disappointed. Before visiting look at their Instagram page for opening times
Absolute gem of a book shop. Àlso, stunning people work here.
Amazing left-field bookshop with poetry, Art and literary books and small-press publications I never even knew existed. Great for pop-up books, puppet and toy theatre books too. Essential now Pollacks has gone. A joy.
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Tanya, the owner, today. I was so pleased to be able to tell her in person how brilliant her shop is... full of treasures. Artful, interesting, small edition and collector's items... their magnifiscence almost masked by the casual way they are displayed. You won't find a 'Do Not Touch' sign here! Tanya encouraged me to explore every nook and cranny, the trust she has in others handling of expensive one-offs made me feel like a truly valued customer. Tanya is full of imagination and her shop refects this. Bookartbookshop is on my list of TOP BEST SHOPS in London!
This is the preeminent bookstore in London. It contains everything from pop-up books to rare works by 'Pataphysical, Surrealist, Dada, Oulipo authors and the poetes maudits. This is a necessary stop for any bibliophile.
Cute little find in the area, stumbled in here as a friend wanted to explore. Very small but full of interesting finds. Feels a bit claustrophobic once more than two people enter but good enough. Sells a variety of books, stationery and self published items.
There is no rivalry against the GIANTS in the book industry like Amazon and Google offering readers the immediacy and plethora of literature online. However, I would argue that small bookstores are where the love of reading thrives. There is no better experience than going to a new bookstore asking someone "hey, what do you recommend" and have your mind opened. Bookandartbookshop offers books with a twist and an unmissable delight to your day.
Timing was bad as I showed up just as the bookshop closed for a summer break, so I’ve yet to visit, but they were very helpful remotely. Looking forward to it reopening!
Not your normal fare here. A small, offbeat niche specialist in small-press publications, the arty, the-unfamiliar and unusual collated by an unfettered hand. The endemically curious and canny are bound to find much ado about nothing here and then some more.
