Driving back from Thirsk, we came upon this fish and chip shop at about 5pm today .We were hungry and got two portions of haddock and chips which was cooked to order. The portions were large and the fish and chips were cooked to perfection, served in large cardboard boxes. We ate them in the car. These were the best fish and chips I've had for a long time, the fish had a delicious not too thick crispy batter and inside was moist and flakey. The chips were large and beautifully golden brown with a slightly crispy exterior with soft fluffy potato inside. The establishment had a very good aroma from outside and a Food Hygiene rating of 5 stars and this is another 5 star from me and my friend too!

Excellent fish and chips. Offer gluten free too which is the only one in Ripon! Made fresh and taste amazing. Owners are lovely and make it a pleasant experience all together.

Best fish & chips anywhere, we visit Ripon from Ireland at least once a year, and always look forward to fish & chips from Bondgate Fisheries. Looking forward to more in 2018.

Lovely fish and chips that we enjoyed on a bench by a picturesque stretch of canal nearby. Haddock was the nicest I'd had in ages and the couple who run it were very pleasant and chatty.
