Staff were very nice and helpful. Place is a bit tired but is an old building.  Room and beds were clean.  Breakfast was good.  Only down side they had no ice for drinks as machine was broken.  Apparently not allowed to go and buy ice which as a customer I would have liked in my drink.

Stayed here for the week whilst working in the area. A Wetherspoons with a hotel on top perfect 👌.
    Beautiful little market square with museums and shops all very close by. Parking is cheap at the rear of the hotel.
   The rooms are great with everything you need all the mod cons.
  The staff are friendly very helpful regardless of the numerous drunks they deal with. The food is okay but could be better. Service is good.
   Emma behind the bar was exceptional, very professional and well presented to a high standard mentally and physically.

Just dropped in as needed a cheap meal out on a Sunday evening with my mum at about 6. There were quite a few tables free but a few hadn't been cleared away. I ordered drinks and food via the weather's points app. Service was quick and the staff friendly. The food was standards spoons fare which was fine for us . I had chilli my mum had a small scampi and chips. It's nothing special but the experience was fine. Meal and drinks was £15.00 all in so you can't knock the value

Typically well run Spoons pub/hotel. Really good good, clean quality rooms at a realistic price. One point is that there's no lift in the hotel so not good for anyone with mobility problems. Excellent pub too.

The rooms were fairly nice except for one having little heating. This wasn't too much of a problem as it still was warm enough and otherwise it was fine. You didn't get much noise from below so that wasn't a issue.
