Our wedding- May 2026nnOur day was so special and amazing, Rebecca was amazing. The whole team especially Thomas, he was so supportive with yourself Rebecca.nnMy whole family and James loved the place, everyone is wanting to stay again etc. We would like to make it an annual thing were we stay in the room on our anniversary. Probably try a Sunday lunch before this.nnI cannot Thankyou enough.nnThe food was 10/10 everyone stated how relaxing but how tasty it was.nThe breakfast was also the best breakfast I have ever had.
The Old Deanery is a fantastic hidden jewel!nWe had the nine course tasting menu - a vegetarian version - which was utterly fabulous.nEach course was a feast for all the senses, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff described them superbly.nIt was a treat to meet Adam the head chef and chat about some of the ingredients.nnOur bedroom was slightly disappointing, with the shower not working well at all. Thankfully the bed and pillows were really comfortable. But to be honest this didn’t lessen our enthusiasm about this place, and we’ll definitely be back.
Elegant but a little date rooms but really quirky. Our room number 3 had lovely views of the cathedral which was lit up at night and only a 2 minute walk. 5 min walk to centre of town with loads of quirky shops, bars and eateries on the way to and in the centre.
The hotel is warm and welcoming in a beautiful old building that is comfortable and clean with incredible views of Ripon Cathedral it is just over the road. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel at home straight away. Service is professional but also relaxed; a very impressive combination. The main highlight is the food which is outstanding; it is difficult to do justice in words to the freshness, variety of explosive flavours and overall beauty of presentation of the dishes. One of the best tasting menus we have ever had; this was our second time here and it was the same incredibly high standard. The chef Adam and his very dedicated team made this a very memorable stay.
I've been to the restaurant several times, for dinner and Sunday roast. They exceed expectations every time from the atmosphere to the food and especially the service. The location is right across from the cathedral so it's in a stunning spot. It's worth asking about the history and also the people who started the restaurant. Would highly recommend for a date night or special occasion, you won't be disappointed.
