Summary: A damn good Indian takeaway The Bombay Feast is my local takeaway, and is a very good example of its kind. I've lived all over Edinburgh, and sampled many examples of Indian fare, and this busy outlet has consistently provided some of the best I've tasted. Every time I've visited, the staff have been super friendly, and are quick to prepare my order right in front of me in their always spotless kitchen. Further, as all the food is freshly prepared, if I need to remove an ingredient -- like coriander, for instance; yuck! -- all I need do is ask. So, if you are in the Blackhall area or close by, it's certainly worth giving the Bombay Feast a try if you fancy an Indian meal.
Found this place with wafts from the open kitchen while driving past one evening and had to pop in for a takeaway. Never failed me yet, always great tasting food
Best Indian in Edinburgh by a long shot and we've tried sooo many! Staff go the extra mile and are so friendly. Never ever had any problems everything is reasonably priced and always very good quality. We actually travel a fair bit to come here and will continue to : Nicholson family X
My order was to include 2 portions of vegetable pakora but when I got home I had only been given 1 portion. Initially this was a big disappointment but as the pakora was cold, stodgy and dry it was actually a blessing. It’s not the first time the pakora has been poor. The chicken curry was okay. I will definitely not be back.
Ordered from here and it was fab. Very fresh tasting and really enjoysd. We had Jaipur Chicken, Sagh Gosht, mushroom pilau, pishwari naan, and chicken pakora, pompadoms and mango chutney. It was nice not to have an overly hot indian meal which was very tasty.
Ordered by phone at 7.26, and was told that delivery would take 1 hour. At 9.05 40 min late there was still no sign of our food. It took a dozen attempts to get through on the phone. They were unable to tell us when or indeed if the food would arrive, and in the middle of the conversation they walked away from the phone without hanging up, keeping the line engaged. Awful service. Never again.
This is an excellent takeaway with super friendly staff. Amazing that you can see where the cook your meal. Nothing hidden. I typically order their masterpiece Lamb Beryani. So delicious. If you fancy spinach, do go for their Palak Paneer as well. My all time favourites.
We ordered food for delivery over 2 and a half hours ago despite being told it would be an hour. We even offered to collect but they assured us it wouldn’t be any quicker. Won’t be doing this again - extremely disappointing
I've been going here for years and the meal has been the same great quality of Indian food. I don't know what's more generous, the staff or the portions.
This place serves consistently excellent food. I have been going here once a week for around 5 years now and have never had a bad meal. Thoroughly recommend the Zeera Chicken Tikka Bhuna it's my favourite.
