Story

Bodega is a contemporary cantina bringing fresh, homemade South American inspired cuisine to Birmingham city centre and Worcester!

We also offer one of the best drinks selections in the city, offering mouth watering cocktails, a handpicked range of South American wines and a comprehensive selection of regional bottled beers.

Our Birmingham doors opened in 2010 as number 4 in the Bitters n' Twisted family of bars. We're proud to not only offer great tasting food and drinks but also some of the best customer service in town!

The menus are created using original ideas, authentic recipes and inspiration from the team's vast South American travels (feel free to ask us about them!)

Service was very slow, especially at the bar. There didn't seem to be enough staff on for a Saturday night. The Mocktail I ordered was 90% ice, and when I complained to the waitress I was told "That's just how they come, sorry". The smoothie I ordered next, I do appreciate the waitress made an effort for it to have less ice and more actual smoothie content, but it took nearly half an hour for that to arrive. We waited nearly 1.5 hours for our main courses. My beef and rice was almost cold. There was very little Brazilian about it, as though there were nice flavours in the accompanying vegetables, I could detect nothing in the beef or rice to suggest they were anything more than just plain boiled rice and plain strips of fried beef. If the chef reading this suggests that as a non-chef, I don't know what I'm talking about and I just missed the subtle Brazilian flavours he wove into the dish, I lived in Brazil and Guyana for a year, and I know what a Brazilian beef dish is supposed to taste like. Overall a poor evening and I do not recommend.

Was travelling back to Wales and I was in an electric car. Found a place to charge the car in Worcester and went for a wander around. I found Bodeja and saw they had a lunchtime menu deal for £6. I popped in and was met with a lovely warm welcome from the staff. I ordered the beef burrito and was offered a few options but went fairly standard. It was lovely food. Once i had finished I told the waitress I was waiting for the car to charge and she said well just sit here for a while and take your time. Needless to say I went there again on the way back home. This time I had the mole chicken, again very tasty. I will go back again even if I don't have to charge a car! Highly recommended.

It was lovely. Was busy when we first arrived but we were offered a table for half an hour later, which we accepted. Food was really tasty and service was friendly but not obtrusive. Yum!!

They serve tasty food which all feels healthy and fresh. They have a better stocked bar than most places along with friendly and wonderful staff. I've been in twice now and really like the place.

Bodega Worcester - Very good meal and attentive, helpful staff. Explained the menu and helped us pick suitable food. Definitely worth checking out.
