You turned a pouring Sunday into a lovely afternoon with a wholesome, sumptuous Sunday Carvery, lovely ales, warm friendly owners and staffs, lively guests, and a beautiful Greyhound with the sweetest puppy eyes. Was bowled over by the spread of a feast! Honey baked ham slices, pork sausage, braised red cabbage with vinegar, crunchy savoury stuffing, roasted parsnips, baby potatoes, carrots... I'll let the pictures do all the talking! Reservation is highly recommended which was really easy to do online. Parking: Parking is at the front, in dedicated parking bays. Convenient.
I havent been here in nearly 30yrs but omg its amazing, the staff are great, the food is amazing, the portions are brilliant and the price ....... even more commendable!! Mixed with a very nice beer garden, you have an absolutely superb all round pub!! I didn't even mention the canal walks and views only 30secs walk away ..... see you again soon guys n gals
Great place to have a drink and food especially after a long walk. Good selection of drinks and great choice on the menu, you definitely do get a full plate! Staff were great and great service too. The beer garden is relaxing, and, a great size. Popped back in on a Sunday and the carvery is big, no small portions here and it's a good price! A dog friendly establishment. Vegetarian options: They sure do have vegetarian options on the menu and gluten free too. Kid-friendliness: A family pub. Parking: The pub has limited parking spaces. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly Dietary restrictions: I guess if you ask or call beforehand, I'm pretty sure they can cater for your needs.
The boat Inn was a lovely pub the food was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly it was easy to get to from the canal I would definitely recommend stopping if you can
Very enjoyable meal. Soup tasty and hot, the main meal- turkey. The plate was full of food and well served. None of this just pile everything on top. Dessert was good. Overall an excellent meal. Will eat there again. Service was wonderful, attentive.Food: 5/5
What a find! Last minute booking. Great hosts and great food. Their dog, Angel, was much loved by the younger members of our party. We were a party of 14 and everyone easily found something on the menu. Interesting and different items to choose from. Not a 'run of the mill' menu by any means. This was a lovely end to our trip to Blenheim Palace.
Food was okay, classic pub grub! Staff were super friendly. Thank you!Food: 4/5
Live locally, but been frequenting the other pubs for years - not been here before. We took a chance today, and pleased to report it was great. It’s refreshing to visit a proper old pub with locals in it, and a genuinely warm welcome from the owners. Amazing old building, lots of charm and originality. A rare find in the area. Food was good, service very good, ambience and warm fire a real winner. We had a lovely afternoon, Angel the doggo lovely, as were the locals - made a rainy Saturday a lovely lunch. Thanks - we will be back
A lovely pub, serving great food, very popular. You will not be disappointed, fantastic, friendly service and a great setting by the canal.Recommended dishesFish N Chips, Rabbit Pie, Meat Pie
Sunday Carvery - Best way to describe it is 'bland.' Three choices of meat, all over cooked. The veg, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, all cold and uninviting. Nothing inspiring at all! Even in a chain owned pub you at least get something like cauliflower cheese. An uninspiring gravy, no doubt made from granuals. The main issue here is that they are not chefs but cooks and it shows in the taste, presentation and skills involved. Bar? Not much in the way of real ales, two choices although there pumps not being used. £4.50 for a Guinness. Save your £13 and walk to the next pub.
