I'm doing this review on behalf of my child, who joined recently. He enjoys attending Young People's theatre every Saturday and cannot wait for the end of term performance. I'm so please with this feedback and so I recommend this to local parents. They also do hires and worth mentioning there is a cute waiting area upstairs where I can chill while the lesson takes place.
An off-the-beaten-track theatre in a residential area flats all around. First time here to see a trilogy of plays. A small auditorium but good views all round. Seats are hard. OK to sit for one event but after three, numbing, so bring a cushion! Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Upstairs bar with a variety of seating. Enjoyed my visit!
Watched a show here called "Give me the sun". The performers were both very good, and the show was really moving. I was impressed by the theatre and their staff, as the person I was with was in a mobility scooter, and they really went out of their way to make our night perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. The theatre itself is step free access from the street. The bar is upstairs, but they brought the drinks we wanted downstairs. Acoustics and lights were spot on for the show, and the set was minimal but very effective.
Montel Douglas is a great theatre teacher i did I workshop with him he is a very bubbly person
The location is car friendly. There’s a long stretch of ‘pay and display’ road available but do not park inside the estates! The site is actually between Burgess and Kennington Parks and therefore reachable by public transport too. The nearest Undergrounds are Elephant and Castle and Oval while the nearest Surface trains stations are Elephant and Castle and Denmark Hill. The Peckham Rye Station is also within a bus distance.
Great activities they have for children above age 7, super friendly and staff!! Very welcoming and creative
Have had a very enjoyable experience. It is my local theater. Small, friendly but full of caracter. Nice for an escape from the reality all alone as well as a palce ro go with your friends and doing the interactive old school socialising with interesting people.
Went with my 1 year old son and saw Baby Bear and had a great time. A fantastic community facility.
Keep walking, yup, keeeeeep walking down Bethwin Road and a little Blue Elephant will be visible to welcome you to Blue Elephant Theatre. Although the history of the name is lost, this superb off the West-End hub of activity is the focal point of innovative performance for the local community. Not only do the team engage heavily with young people in the area through their extensive education programs, they are committed to producing a whole range of productions at the intimate 50-seater venue... To find more unique and independent places why not visit the Twenty Something London website!
It's a nice tiny theatre. The area is not great. There isn't much to do after the play. Some of the acting was good.
