It was so much fun and had great energy on a Thursday night. There was a person showed up asking for money, however they were not aggressive and continued on their way with no issues for the people who said no.
Ok, here to me up with a couple of friends of mine has a lovely cup of coffee. It was oat milk. I had no sugar and no syrup cause my levels concerning diabetes were getting through a place of concern. It is a beautiful space if you want to go and sit down and do some work while enjoying the ambiance or have a quick sit-down meeting with people. I love the color scheme of the male toilets, and they do have unisex toilets there as well. I was impressed by that too. Really but what I took to was the artwork that was all over the area behind reception going towards the toilets. I didn't pay too much attention, but I liked it. I was just one thing when you come to the premises please Converse with the receptionist this so that they know that you're okay. I made the mistake of not doing that first. So I pass on the advice.
A very modern but intimate theater house on Cold Harbour Lane in Brixton. Small theater with an unobstructed view in the main auditorium on the ground floor with a good sound system. Entrance, lobby and café in an open plan setting which is quite spacious.
Purpose-built creative hub with the theatre and rehearsal studios as fulcrum and raison d’etre. Spacious contemporary public bar and café is comfortable and welcoming. Worth mention is the playful artwork, a sustained narrative, around the elevator shaft by Damiola Odusote featuring an energetic, bulbous “everyman” skittering over the local territory studded with local landmarks. Admirable endeavour, a welcome suburban addition to London’s theatre stock.
It's the first time that I personally, have been inside Brixton House, having passed it many times. We went to see - Everything I Own with Tony Marshall, in very much a one man play. What an introduction! Not only was it easy to identify with the themes that the play raised bringing back so many memories of our shared and common experiences with which we could identify in addition, we also got to sing along to the many familiar tunes which punctuated the play. Tony Marshall's stamina and ability held us spellbound throughout in, what was an appropriately small, intimate space. Very well done, Sankofa Productions and Tony Marshall for giving us such a thought provoking play. We can only hope that, you continue to go from strength to strength, in the future. Thank you!
Great venue. Used to do dance classes here. Friendly staff and good prices
Visited for a book launch and wow what a lovely venue, nice spaces and lovely staff. Will definitely come here again.
I often visit Brixton House to work in the lounge area. Unfortunately, I encountered unprofessional and aggressive behavior from a security guard during my recent visit. While my colleague and I were preparing to use a shared power cord, the guard confrontationally demanded its removal, despite our intention to use it. The guard not only spoke to me in a demeaning manner but also unplugged the cord and threw it on the floor when I went to get tea. When I reported the incident to a staff member, the guard interrupted our conversation aggressively. Despite my request, I was not allowed to speak with a manager. This is not an isolated incident; I have previously seen this guard forcefully eject a homeless man and scrutinize patrons' belongings. Such behavior raises serious concerns about the policies and oversight at Brixton House. I am deeply concerned and will inform others of my experience. This pattern of behavior needs urgent attention to ensure all patrons are treated with respect and dignity.
Great new ish venue in the heart of Brixton. We saw Caleb Femi in conversation and the night flew by. Fantastic cocktails too!
It's a great place to grab a coffee and handle a few calls. However, there's a bit of an issue with the staff playing their music at full volume, which can be quite disruptive, especially when trying to work, particularly at 9:00 am. If they aim to encourage a productive work environment rather than a party atmosphere, I suggest dialling down the volume a bit. Thanks for considering it.
