We returned for Sunday lunch with friends. We found it lovely apart from the belly pork crackling. It had not been rendered at all and was soft & floppy. Shame really as everything else was great. I wouldn't order it again. The other thing was not being informed of the added service charge my husband has terrible eyesight & us rounding it up further. The server could have checked we still wanted to do this despite the added charge. It's the little things, especially in this day and age.nnStopped for lunch whilst our dogs have a taster session at local kennels. Lovely atmosphere. Warm and cosy. Friendly, attentive staff but not in your face.nFood was delicious. One of the nicest light bites I've had in a very long time and very reasonably priced. We are definitely coming back for a main meal in the not so distant future.nToilets lovely and clean too.

I have visited twice in the past couple of months for Sunday lunch with family and with a friend. Everyone has enjoyed their meal, the sirloin beef and lamb in particular are some of the best we've had. The overall atmosphere, quality of food and service makes for a perfect Sunday lunch spot.
A fairly disappointing first time here. 3 of us had starters which were pleasant. I had the king prawn pad Thai from the starters as a main. It was okay to start with then it got saltier and saltier. Then I came across something black/brown and really hard which finally put me off finishing. I called over a server and explained it was far too salty and it was taken back to the kitchen. The server came back and said something about burnt tamarind and the chef's preference. My partner's chicken thigh in the burger was very dark and he admitted after we left it was overcooked. Nothing was taken off the bill for the pad thai which was a shame.
It's 35 years since I stepped over the threshold! The landlord was amazing! After a conversation he took time out to give me a tour of this fantastic pub which he didn't have to do! Amazing place..you must visit!
