Thought id leave a review of this place, very well served evening by a fine young man. Think his name was george. The mrs gave a tip of £10 he was so well mannered... pay rise needed!

Clearly the best pub in Heswall especially the quality of the beer & food.The Landlord Wayne and his wife are absolutely prefect very friendly & professional the place is immaculate inside and out and I am extremely happy this hidden gem has reopened its doors all the best of luck-Highly recommend this venue!! Very friendly, easy going pub. Tasty, homemade food, worth a try!

Lovely pub and the staff are top notch - so welcoming and friendly and quickly remembered our family’s drink orders. Lindsey was especially good to us when we had difficulty getting a taxi home. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Had their Sunday Roast, it was excellent.

The Black Horse in lower Heswall has reopened now. So called in to see the changers.   And stayed to watch the match. So ordered a Sunday Roast. It was fantastic fresh, hot, and the service is spot on. We have been back twice since for a lunch. And still it was spot on. It looks like it is on the road to recovery. Recommend it.

Very friendly welcome from Wayne, Anastasia and the staff :- spent a very pleasant afternoon enjoying fresh home cooked food. Delicious, will be back.

Great to see this pub open again under new management! The staff actually seem to care this time around! I hope they stay open
