Loved visiting here and seeing what it was like back in the thick. Going down the mine and seeing what it would have been like is a great attraction. Huge site so you can easily spend all day there and take your time listing to the actors explain everything. Fish and chips is a must along with the school lesson.

Brilliant museum staffed by knowledgeable, friendly volunteers in period costume. The fish and chip shop offers excellent food at very reasonable prices and kids really enjoy the experience. Can't recommend highly enough.

One of the most amazing museums I've visited in the UK. This was a first for me and I really love this concept for a museum - it's like an educational theme park! I'm a university student but I felt like a child again when I visited this place. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. I can't wait to bring my friends and family here next time. I enjoyed taking the vintage tram and shuttle buses around the museum. The tram did break down later on though but that just shows how old that thing is. So I forgive it for breaking down. My only regret is that I queued for the fish and chips for half an hour, only to be told that their card machine didn't work and I had to come back later. I was quite upset because I had to leave and didn't have the time to queue again after withdrawing enough cash from the ATM in the main building :(

We visited the Black Country Living Museumfor their Red By Night event. There was a kind of magic to the place - an open-air museum on 26 acres of former industrial land, showing what it was like to live and work in the industrial era. Authentic shops, houses, and workplaces have been reconstructed; there is a working tram, an underground mine; metal working, glass cutting, and sweet making; there is a Limelight Cinema with silent films from the 1920s and a real spit and sawdust inn. I'm eager to revisit when we have more time to see everything. We managed to catch the last ride of the night at the traditional fairground on the Speedway Ark - a super fast carousel, which had us clinging on to the handle bars for dear life. The perfect end to a pretty awesome day.

Easily the best museum I've been to, including the best experience I've had when we were shown the coal mine. I'd recommend it to people who don't live in the area and had to move to reach it. Next time I'm in the UK I'll pay another visit. We were disappointed that we chose our final day of our visit to the UK to go there, else we would have gone again! Best thing to do in the West Midlands
