An excellent place to visit, with a fantastic collection of glass and good amount of history about glass manufacturing and the glass quarter. Really great that they have a contemporary glass maker so you can see it happening in real life. Very informative and welcoming staff. Will definitely visit again!
Friendly, helpful staff-we were invited in at closing so that we wouldn’t miss a temporary exhibition, wonderful! The exhibition was beautifully displayed, fascinating and beautiful. Very much looking forwards to going back and experiencing more of this excellent museum.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Small car park next to museum, handy. Very small, can complete your tour within 20 minutes, the corner shops are nice with novel crafts/gifts. Lovely space by canal to enjoy snacks.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
a really interesting place with some great pieces on display which are being added to all the time. very friendly atmosphere with greatcl staff and volunteers. you can also see glass art being made by some of the UK top atrists. great walks along the canal and you also pop over to the Red House glass cone museum just over the road. an amazing heritage centre.

Fantastic acrylic display cabinets along with fantastic use of decorative stainless steel. Museum failed to address the elephant in the room - the unfortunate fact that glass tends to smash when dropped, even to the present day. Was also impressed they had both the licence and the skill to manipulate hot glass.
Very reasonable entrance fee. Allowed to take your well behaved dog in with you if needed and they were greeted with a biscuit bone! Very knowledgeable guides who were more than happy to impart that knowledge. Exceptionally clean and well laid out. Thoroughly enjoyed it.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It is only appropriate that Stourbridge, one of the glass making centres of England, has it own glass museum. It has very interesting and beautiful exhibits which trace the glass making history of the region from Roman times up to the present day. Everything is well explained both in the showcases as well as in the numerous interactive displays. There is also a working glass making workshop! Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Glass Museum. The displays are really interesting and informative and the glass collection is wide, focused on local firms but with some ancient items and items from elsewhere in the UK and Europe, and some of the items are very beautiful. Older items are on the ground floor and more modern items on the first floor. There are some fascinating interactive displays probably intended primarily for children but some, particularly the glass design displays, are most interesting for adults too. There is also a workshop demonstration which shows how little methods have changed over the centuries in the making of hand-made glass. The staff are extremely interested and helpful - all volunteers too. The museum is new and still evolving and completing and cataloguing its collection. I wish it a very successful future, which it deserves.
We had a friendly and knowledgeable reception from volunteer Janice. I was impressed with the layout of the museum and the interactive displays. I am black country born and bred but still managed to learn stuff. They don't have a cafe but there is one at the Red House cone across the road or several pubs nearby.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
