"Black Bear Burger was created in 2016 by husband and wife team Liz and Stew Down, who after spending two years doing ski seasons in Whistler, Canada, surrounded by people having the best time of their lives, realised that it was important to do something that they were passionate about!Once back in the UK, Stew and Liz decided to set up a street food stall focusing on their favourite food - burgers. The Burgers were outstanding; the flavour of it just bursts in your mouth. Both chicken and The original black bear burgers were delicious and so were the fries. The food here did not disappoint one bit. The Restaurant itself is a little small but has got outdoor seating area. Friendly staff
What an amazing experience. I had a lot of burgers in my life but these ones were really great, Flavors were remarkable, maybe a bit disappointed by the fries which were maybe not enough fried. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for amazing burgers
This burger goes straight to my top 3 London burgers! Delicious, tender, full of flavour and so easy to eat you could have it every day! We tried the miso burger and was great, will try the classic one next time!
Great burgers! We had the Black Bear and the Black & Blue and the Black Bear was definitely the winner. Super solid, simple but very well executed burger. Next time I’ll go double as the bread was definitely firm enough to hold a double whereas for other burgers it would get soggy very quickly. The Black & Blue was very good but it could have used a bit more blue cheese flavour in the sauce.
Wow very expensive for 2 burgers 2 fries and 1 drink. Especially to be served in box's. No condiments available so chips bland and dry so disappointed. Would of loved some salt and vinager ! Burgers were OK but not worth the money. Wouldn't return. Limited options Restaurant in the box park so communal seating
This is not a sit down restaurant but a stand inside box park Shoreditch. Seating is therefore on benches in rows so expect to sit with others if you can find a space. Burger is delicious, served pink and lots of flavour, but chips were unseasoned. Can order online and you get a text to go and collect when food is cooked. Member of staff wasnt particularly friendly, didnt say a word when I said I was here to collect food or ask for a straw.
This one goes straight to my top 3 burger places in London. The Miso Mayo Burger is a MUST. Just delicious and with that nice sauce that makes it stand out from the typical burger. Meat is tasty and tender and the bun is great. Will definitely comeback
Nice buzz. Went with family and kids. More effort should be made to make the box park more family/kid friendly Eat at Salt Shed. It's definitely called salt shed for a reason.
CHIP SOUP I had the classic BB Burger & fries lunch meal deal. Disappointed no Brisket that day, a 1/3 of the menu gone. The patty crunchy edge, smoky, medium, great beefy flavour and bun heavy on sesame, perfectly toasted, held its form were excellent. The bacon/cheese were unevenly distributed. The garlic in the "garlic mayo" was almost indetectable, perhaps a defensive response to feedback from Boxpark's corporate customer base. The overall burger was too sweet for a UK palate, with demi-brioche + onion jam + mayo. Needs a pickle to balance, unless your tastebuds are dialled up to Creme Egg level. The chips were fresh but wet, a soggy, oily mess. At what low temperature do BBB keep their fryer? And who picked the expensive looking bags in which they just sit and steam? A one off? Check out the reviews - this is a consistent complaint @ BBB Boxpark. They were also underseasoned what are the dark bits? and please give me a sachet of salt, rather than mayo and ketchup, which were abundantly handed out by chef but would have turned my chips into a soup With such a great burger choice in London, it's an insult to see chips like this. Had luggage so couldn't easily raise at the time with the BBB team on site, but short of a refund it's not clear how they could have helped. Recommendation: Try the classic BBB if you like sweet things; don't be tempted by a meal deal; BYO vastly superior fries from Patty & Bun / Five Guys nearby. They'll still be crunchy by the time you're sitting to eat your Black Bear Burger.
Great burger! Was really disappointed that they didn't have the wings that were listed on their menu cos the pictures look amazing. They were pretty slow but that was fine. Black Bear Burger is inside Box Park, Box Park is a bit too loud and needs better cleaning of tables so atmosphere could be better but food was great.Food: 4/5
