I find this place lovely to chill out in after a 12 hour shift at work. The atmosphere is nice, the food is top notch, and the staff are always pleasant, friendly and helpful. Emma was busy doing her job, but still made the effort to chat and make sure everything was to my liking. The prices are very reasonable and portions are ample. If you’ve never tried it, I’d recommend giving it a try
I've always thought this place was crap but thought Id give a Sunday dinner delivery a go. I picked a choice of 2 meats with extra gravy for me and my husband and was disgusted to find a paper thin slice of beef and some stringy bits of turkey. I can't actually believe they can charge what they do and deliver substandard crappy portions. It's embarrassing! When calling birch wood. It was clear they didn't care! Apparently the reason why there was hardly any meat and why we’d basically paid £40 for 2 boxes full of veg was because the amount of meat you get is based on the weight of the meat??? I’ve never heard anything like it! There was no meat to weigh! She also couldn’t tell me what the meat weight should be! An absolute load of rubbish Food is anwful and tasteless Yorkshire puddings are rubbery and the service is just as bad. It was like having someone else’s leftovers which I wouldn’t even feed to the dog! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
Took my son and close friends to celebrate my son's 9th birthday with. A carvery and a full Marz attack cakeone thing my son asked for . Dispite it being very busy the staff was amazing especially Jack D who brought out his cake, Scarlet the lady who made his cake, Harvey who served us at the bar and Becca who delivered the cake when they had cut and boxed it. Even though they very busy they met all our requests and was very polite and friendly. The food was lovely. The meat was cooked beautifully. Good selection of veg.nThank you for making it an enjoyable experience!
I have just started a new job as a carer. I visited your business on Monday 13th and wow!!! The waitress was the best ever! SOPHIE what can I say, outstanding friendly fantastic person. The carer I attended with asked me if I knew Sophie and of course I didn’t, but that just shows how brilliant she is at her job. This lady needs recognition because she is excellent at her job. Couldn’t do enough for us and her smile was electric. Thank you Sophie for working that day as we wouldn’t have met you otherwise: hope you are working the next time we visit!!! Well done
Dined Sunday, about 6pm, no queue, straight in, loads of spare room. Ordered at the bar, 2 regular carvery. No pump fizzy drinks unfortunately, run out of gas.nFood was absolutely delicious, choice of 3 meats served by the carver + a beautiful huge crispy Yorkshire. The rest is self serve and there was such a great selecting of veg and accompaniments. Roast potatoes, roast parsnips absolutely perfect, seriously can't fault any of the food. Would've liked a ever so slightly thicker gravy, it was good it's just my personal choice to have a thicker gravy.nMe & ma boy are doing the rounds at the local places within a 25 mile radius of our house and this is up there ! Possibly a #1 contender, it was that good. Desert, we shared a chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. All adequately priced. I've said before our measure is always the same, would we dine there again ? Absolutely we would.nThe next measure is to try something else from the menu. Pass that test they're up to 2 Mark&George , and not many places get that !nBirchwood Farm, we'll be back
