Went in for coffee and cake, I had a slice of carrot cake which was recommended by one of the customers there, it was quite nice but if I am giving a honest comment and recommendation, I would say the carrot cake lacks the cream in the middle as carrot cake would taste nicer if there is a cream / line in the middle to separate two layers of the cake, and it would be nicer if it was a bit softer, but overall it was still delicious. The coconut flat white that I had was very nice too. Service was fast, price was fair.
It's a lovely café and a must stop off point whilst in Saffron Walden. It's buzzing with energy which is reflected by the exciting menu. I had "health" which was deliciously balanced and some top ingredients. I also tried the red velvet beetroot latte which was an interesting take on a latte, a definite conversation starter. All in all the service was great with good food and a larger than life welcoming atmosphere.
Had a lovely lunch here - went for the tuna melt and it was goooood! The place was really busy when we arrived but they found a table for us instantly. Staff were also very attentive and friendly
Really enjoyed the brunch food here. Staff were warm and attentive too. Great vegetarian options and portion sizes are decent too. Shall be visiting the branch in London in the future.
Decided to visit The Curious Goat for Sunday brunch seeing as many people have recommended it and I was not dissapointed. Outside there was a short wait owing to the fact that the restaurant was full, the entire time maximum of ten minutes anyway the host was very attentive and made sure that everyone was kept updated of how long their table would be. Once inside the amazing service continued, as stated the restaurant was at capacity but I was made to feel welcome and there was no delay in the ordering or food being served. In addition to the great service both the food and drinks are absolutely fantastic and as they provide take away whenever I am in town I will definitely be returning for coffees! No hesitation in giving this 5 stars, all in a great experience.
Great customer service. Sadly our lunch order wasn’t put through initially and we waited a while for it. Without us even having to ask, we were offered the whole meal for free, including the take away coffees we left with. All the staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, despite it being busy. The food was great when it came, just an honest mistake by one of the staff. Brilliantly handled. Other eateries could learn a lot from how it was handled. Thank you, team.
Absolutely delicious food Cooked so perfect a delicious tasty freshly cooked meal Ingredients oil herbs cheese chicken pomegranate seeds mushrooms all fabulous Staff all friendly and helpful Waiting time really good 10/15 mins Coffee and tea tasty and enjoyable Water on table no asking Deserts once again delicious Need small outdoor heating of sorts Essex gets chilly Would definitely recommend
Tucked away fantastic little place. Good quality food and a nice vibe. Only had coffee and cakes, but the breakfasts/brunches look good quality and quantities. Will be making an B line for here on my next return to Saffron Walden
Definitely one of the best places in town for Brunch. Very popular, so sometimes there's a queue for seating. Seating indoors and out. Prices are what you would expect for Saffron Walden. A wide variety of drinks available.
I don't like to complain, I work in the catering industry and have for 23 years, however I also know and appreciate that if something is not right, you should rectify it. This was our last stop from our day trip, we really enjoyed but sadly this left us walking pretty disappointed, I told the waitress our lemon drizzle cake was really dry and inedible and she just said we don't make them here, thanks, bye. You may not make it, but you are serving it and if a customer has not eaten because it is so dry you should apologise and offer them something else or refund them. She seemed so disinterested, complete lack of care, just deflected any responsibility away.
