Nice hotel will superb gardens and ample safe parking. Room were very nice as were the staff. A little pricey for a double room, although this was the bank holiday weekend. Food was fine and the bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel. Overall a lovely stop over.
Stayed here with overseas clients on a business trip. My room was large, quiet and comfortable, although the decor was quite dated. Nice bathroom and a hot shower & tub.nnThe grounds are nice, but the weather wasn’t good enough to enjoy them. An unusually cold day in June. We were going to eat in the restaurant but were told to eat in the bar area as the restaurant was too cold! The hotel wasn’t busy, and I think they just didn’t want to heat this large space in June.nnThe bar area wasn’t warm either, but the food and service were good. The bar, however, has no cask ale, and the only keg bitter & Guinness were both off.nnOverall an average experience. I would return, but hope for a better experience next time.
It’s not a 4 star hotel. It’s not! Barely a 3 star.nTerrible food, instant coffee and unchewable pancakes for breakfast. Shame really to pay £140 per night for such a placenThe outside is a beautiful area and setting. Very convenient parking. Beds are not too bad. For a one night stay if you are on the road - yes ok. But it’s not enjoyable experience.. Left us very disappointed.
We went because one of my friends was having their wedding, reception and nighttime disco there. Everything took place in the same suite.nThe food was lovely and being a hotel the drinks were a bit pricey. Everything was on one floor although there were steps at the entrance. I'm sure that there is a wheelchair accessible entrance available. There was a selection of lagers available but only one type of draught beer, Tetleys. We didn't stay but the wedding package included a room for the bride before the wedding and the honeymoon suite afterwards.
Close to the road we were driving down. Nearby large park with a kids play area with splash zone, excellent for stretching legs. Staff friendly and helpful. Grounds beautifully kept. Pleasant walk out in these. Food is good - had to ask for vegan sausage.
