Food was amazing, waitress was brilliant very attentive, couldn't fault the place apart from 1 thing. Turned up without a booking, the woman on Front desk was rude and abrupt, she should never be in that position as front of house, as we nearly left. No smile or manners n marched us to a table on top floor.
Only one thing upsetting me is if I go there and I see people ordering steaks "well-done". FABUABULOUS PLACE FOR BEAUTIFUL SUCCULENT STEAKS, serving 30-day aged prime meat not cheap and you are corrupting its tenderness by ordering "well-done"? Guys, I do understand that you may prefer meat to be cooked well but don't be foolish, don't eat steaks and go for Sunday roast then! Or try to go each time one level closer to "medium-rare" and one day you will find out what I am talking about. Oh, and try their Salt&Pepper Calamari with chilli or Surf&Turf Skewer as a starter off course, amazing. Enjoy and eat steaks "medium-rare"!
This was a birthday meal for our son. Which we had done from a child. His burger was dry. Had to send it bk and get another one. Which was tasteless. I had chicken and ribs. The chicken was so dry and so was my ribs. Everything seemed to be overcooked or left in a warmer. Very disappointed for our first visit.
Had a lovely meal for our anniversary. Food was great. The waitress, I think it was Melanie, was brilliant. They were all rushed off their feet but Melanie was very attentive and looked after us. Looking forward to our next visit.
It was great happy servers..fish and chips great..do to die for mixed grill a must.
I'm very split by this place. We went on a Saturday early afternoon and overall it was not too busy. But service was a mess and almost non existent. I saw several people but only seemed to be one person actually serving tables. It took us 2 hours to actually get the food and about 30 minutes to get a drink. The food itself was good and tasty. This place just needs to up its service
Great place to eat, the staff are really friendly and helpful. My steak was nearer to rare than medium rare, but on the whole I loved the food. Will definitely come back! :
Really good Beefeater and our server, Mia, was lovely. However, disappointed to go on a Sunday afternoon for Sunday dinner only to find that they've sold out of roasts! I'd booked weeks beforehand for my partner's birthday. They must have had an idea of how busy they'd be to adequately order. This is not the first time this has happened and I purposely booked for earlier in the afternoon after previous disappointment. What we did eat was lovely but just not what we really wanted.
Food was good, but the positives stop there. The lady on 'front of house' was miserable, we've never been greeted so coldly. Service was super slow. We were there for 2 hours and had 2 courses - and that doesn't include us having to get our own drinks from the bar the barmaid was very friendly. The front of house lady came to help the server, and was banging and crashing plates about, practically throwing them onto the counter. No apologies for the delay, no offer of drinks refills, no service with a smile. We love the Beefeater, but we won't be back to this one!
Was shown to the table quickly but there was a long wait before a waiter came to take our drinks order. An even longer wait for the waiter returned to take our food order. The food arrived but was lukewarm, the turkey was hard and chewy, the potatoes weren't all cooked and the parsnips were burnt. The desserts we wanted were unavailable and overall the food was of poor quality for the money charged. A very disappointing Christmas dinner. Will not be going there again,unfortunately
