As our first experience with this company, we anticipated a good product and service. This assumption was made by the display and showroom at Teesside Park. Alas, we never suspected that this would indeed be smoke and mirrors. Being the average family of two adults and two children, our needs are by no means bespoke and we didnt require this level of service or product. In this respect we would not be disappointed. Our first purchase involved a three seater and two seater sofa, this was a very attractive piece. Little did we realise that the build quality was left wanting. We returned this to find a patch up job to remedy this issues but only after a lengthy wait. After this failed we received a credit note and purchased a corner sofa from the surplus store in the Stockton showroom. Mistakenly, we thought that finally we had a good quality sofa that would last us a good portion of time, this was indeed a mistake. We now find ourselves in the position of having a sofa with the base falling out of the bottom and another section of the base following suit. So in conclusion, I think the only position we can take is to warn other families to avoid this company and take your custom elsewhere. The term you get what you pay for would be relevant in most case, with most products and services. But in the case of Barker and Stonehouse, I would say don't judge a book by its cover.

The management at the Teesside Park are inept and think that giving away lots of vouchers is acceptable. I'm now an ex customer but I have found that the branch at Harrogate are very very helpful with unhappy customers from the Teesside branch. My orders from Teesside branch were a joke. Five orders and 100% incorrect items. I had my house fully emptied for new carpets, I came home to find bright Green carpets when we ordered grey. They accepted responsibility but what a load of hassle and 12 months later they will not refund the un used carpets. I also paid £1000 to have my house empty for the carpets to be fitted ( complete waste of time and money) Daughters bed 6 months late then damaged and parts missing. The fitter from Barker and stonehouse said it's normal these days. All other orders incorrect. The store manager is a JOKE, when I complained he handed me loads of vouchers and I mean loads of vouchers. I don't need vouchers as I have enough money to buy what I want. I would have rather had the items I paid for NOT VOUCHERS. Next time you get your vouchers out remember the person your giving the vouchers too can probably afford everything in your life so sort out the issues rather than thinking your vouchers will help. It's an insult. It's amazing that when I've spoke to staff they all have the same opinion about the store manager. I'm seeing a link here. I'M GIVING THE VOUCHERS TO CHARITY FOR CHRISTMAS SO HOPEFULLY WHOEVER GETS THEM WILL NOT HAVE THE ISSUES I'VE HAD.

Today I went for lunch with my Husband and Grandson in the licenced cafe The food was excellent I also bought a couple of candel holder's they are really nice.I enjoyed my visit to Barker and Stonehouse the furniture in the store is Fabulous.
