Worst services. TLDR: If you have a Hungarian passport and a middle name then save yourself a trip because apparently it is not acceptable for them to open an account for you. At least at this branch. If you need an account fast go to NationWide they had more common sense and were helpful all the way. The first problem was is that my bank statement only had my initials, this was noted immediately, then I showed them a message where I asked Barclays explicitly if it is acceptable. After this the next problem was that my Hungarian passport (as all Hungarian passports) only have a given name field for the first name and the middle name, and even though a quick google search could have shown that indeed the one in the middle is my middle name, and the other one is the first my application got rejected. After asking them what I can do they said I could ask my university to replace my middle and first name (basically forge it), although I am not sure what could have been achieved by this as my account wouldn't have been under my name, another suggestion was to look for another bank. After days of trying to get into contact with someone who could confirm if this was really justified or not I couldn't get a straight answer. I am hoping that this is the only branch that is so incompetent and I will have better luck opening an account for which I have all the required documents in one of the branches in London.

The only branch in Aberdeen and there is only one person working behind the desk most of the time so you will be waiting for long time for your time 👎🏻

Awful service. The waiting time in this place is unbelievable. Worst thing is that you will see members of staff walking casually (sometimes carrying a bottle of coca cola), when you (along with several other customers) are waiting to be served. Sometimes they just disappear behind the security protected door leaving all the frustrated customers without a clue.
