This place had good food, not amazing. I got the Scottish pie with potatoes and the pie was a bit dry, like it had been made previously and was just re-heated or had been sitting under a warmer. My wife ordered a Margherita Pizza, which I guess it qualified in the sense that it had tomato sauce and mozzarella but it was what most of the world would call a “cheese pizza”. My brother had the kebobs and the meat was a bit dry but good overall. Again, not bad food, just not great. The prices should be lower for what was served.
Nice hole in the wall bistro. We had Steak Pie with Mash and gravy and it was good. We actually didn't expect too much coz of the bad reviews but we had a good experience. Sadly, the whole nation is on covid protocol and staff didn't wear face masks.
Lovely breakfast spot. Friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Great chai latte. Had the full British breakfast. Prices reasonable 11L for full Brit. I may be especially biased because they welcomed me as a solo traveler even during a busy morning instead of most places that appear to treat dining alone like a contagious disease. Vegetarian breakfast available but I didn't try because rasher bacon exists.
Less than impressed, obviously in the peak tourist trap area, but £10 for a panini is a bit crazy… especially when they all arrive burnt and with barely any filling, wouldn’t say the tuna ‘melt’ was exactly melty! Chips were drab, and had to ask twice for a missing meal. Nearly £100 for 8 lunches that left me feeling less than satisfied was not exactly how I planned on spending my day…
great service. quite tasty food. we ordered the potato with cheese and beans and the salmon... both delicious Kid-friendliness: There are options for kids
Alba Bistro was one of the nicer places I have ate at in Grass market. Like most places there it is fairly small, however despite the venue space we felt we had a good amount of space and were fairly comfortable here. The food was great and well priced. Our waiter was one of the nicer waiters we have had during our stay. He was polite and engaged in some friendly conversation with us, taking the the time to make his guests at the tables feel welcomed.
I was walking down the street on Christmas Day and looking for a place to have a dinner with my friends, when I saw Alba bistro, at the beginning, my friends and I were a bit concerned as the reviews was quite down but we decided to go anyway and surprisingly we were impressed by the quality of the food and the cordiality by the staff specially from the Turkish guy and the Indian girl who I forgot their name! Food was incredible, drinks and the atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner!
The food is good, but a little bland to be great. Nice location in Grasmarket, and fast and attentive service. Nice placebo, but the food needs some seasoning and a little love when made.
A hidden gem! Service was AMAZING! Interior nice and cosy. The French toast was super delicious & the fresh smoothie was lovely & refreshing. 100% recommend
You need to update the menu on your webpage. I work locally and checked out your menu on your webpage before walking over. Prices seemed 'reasonable'. Was disappointed to find sandwiches £2 more than on website. It was tasty but a bit much for a quick lunch.
