Large relatively well maintained Leicester City Council park and recreation ground which also is used for sports events like local league and schools football games. Has children's play area with appropriate equipment. Car parking is available within the the recreation ground as well as on-street on Copinger Road and Whittier Road. Liked by dog walkers and those just taking a constitutional. Bizarrely, although it is named Aylestone Recreation Ground by Leicester City Council, it is actually located in the AYLESTONE PARK area of Leicester City and not within Aylestone itself - which is about 2 miles away! This sometimes causes confusion with people going to Aylestone PLAYING FIELDS which are on the edge of Aylestone Village for fixtures that are actually happening on this Recreation Ground!! (Leicester City Council have said they will not be renaming this Recreation Ground to its correct location).
