Great walk along the river, nicely drying tow paths now the sun has made an appearance at long last,I only walked part of the way ,but it's a really nice walk.
A Great walk down by the canal, I cycle down here sometimes, and in the summer this place is the best place yet! Also a little pebble beach here to lovely on hot days
Wonderful large area of nature just outside the city centre. I've spent well over 70 hours here walking and bird watching over the 3 years I've been in Leicester. I often walk in the mornings and everyone I've spoken with, even just briefly, has been very nice and welcoming. There are many different walking routes - accessible ones and some muddier. It takes about an hour to walk from one end to the other and there are maps situated all around.nnI'd recommend checking out the Facebook group if you'd like to see some of the nice wildlife photos taken there and the website/app eBird if you want a very thorough overview of the birds there.nnThe main problem is during school holidays when it gets a lot noisier and unfortunately a lot of litter gets left behind.
