Story

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings is an award-winning open-air museum spanning 700 years of life in the West Midlands. Set in a stunning rural location, Avoncroft has over 30 exhibits including domestic, commercial, ecclesiastical and agricultural buildings which have been rescued, restored and reconstructed on our site.

Avoncroft is a six-times winner of the prestigious Sandford Award for quality and excellence in educational services and we welcome visits from schools, groups and societies.

We have also received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2013, putting Avoncroft in the top 10% of visitor attractions reviewed.

Our beautiful buildings and atmospheric grounds are much in demand as a wedding venue (we also offer vintage weddings) and as locations for filming and photography.

The site is also home to the UK's National Telephone Kiosk Collection (including a rare blue police phone box) and a miniature railway.

We have a lively and varied programme of events including historical re-enactments, traditional celebrations, activity days and cultural events.

I went many years ago. Nice to go back! We all enjoyed playing with the telephones in the telephone box exhibition. The windmill looked great in that setting but was closed the day we visited. The prefab house was interesting, and the church. I was in my wheelchair, and I think the ramps to get into the buildings need some work. They are either too steep, too wobbly and fragile, or not there at all.
That was fantastic. Didn't expect to see so many historic buildings. Also, here is probably the largest collection of the phone boxes. There are many spots for the picnic so it can be a nice place to visit a visit with kids. And most important for me it is dog friendly.
Spent 3 fabulous hours chatting to reinactors and admiring all the efforts they go to. Fab place to visit. Even the teenagers enjoyed it!
Wow! Amazing day talking to people re-enacting different eras all in such beautiful costumes, their knowledge and skills was superb. Great day out and brought back so many memories for us all and conversations.
Great place for a day out with all the fabulous buildings, gardens, pic nice area and the amazing phone booths that the children love.
