Had a lovely stay at the Avoca. Rooms clean and nicely decorated. However, I do wish they offered a breakfast menu so guests can see what is available, we were asked if we wanted the small or large fry at breakfast but wasn’t told what each included. We also saw individuals with different breakfast items that we didn’t know where available, and majority of the yogurts provided where over their use by dates by a few days which you would expect to be checked daily. The photos show the French Martini I was served and a photo they posted on their instagram. The bar staff had spilled it over the floor and table as they set it down and never offered a napkin to help, was very shocked and disappointed with this due to the price and how the hotel advertises their cocktails. Overall, we did have a lovely few days at the Avoca but would not rush back.

It's a great location, service was ok but could be better especially when Staff are brushing floor and cleaning when people are trying to eat not very hygienic, very expensive for food and drink. Would not recommend as food is below average there are better places to go which are not as expensive. The views from rooms are nice and bed is comfortable only down fall is that they aren't disability friendly as have to climb alot of narrow stairs. Overall not very impressed.

Cannot say enough about this amazing place. Stayed in a king room with a beautiful view of the sea, staff were wonderful, food was great! 10/10 if your looking to stay in Newcastle this is the place. Hotel is connected to the bar but has its own entry so you’re not trucking through the bar with luggage!

There is only one thing I can say about this hotel - fabulous.  I didn’t actually stay but I did have dinner with my wonderful grandmother, and the food was delicious, and staff was amazingly friendly.  Food was great value, £15 for a large chicken wing starter, with 15 large wings, and a very beautiful steak sandwich was only £20.  The mash potato was wonderful, deliciously creamy, and the ice cream was well presented!  I would 100% recommend this place for dinner!  Also, location was fabulous and we could park opposite the hotel on the promenade!

Great couple stay. Staff were so friendly. Food and entertainment were great. Handy spot. Quirky room with amazing view over the sea & mournes. Great value which isn’t common these days. Wouldn’t be able to take kids at the weekend because of the sound of the bar but it was no bother to us as we were away for a night away. Will def be back :
