This hotel is beautuful both inside and out. Nice to walk around the grounds on the many walkways. Peaceful and tranquil by the old ruins. Nice place to sit and read or just to relax. Staff are excellent, polite and helpful. Food is very nice too, served quickly but also worth alittle wait when restaurant is busy. Would willingly recommend Millbrook House Hotel to anyone and will hopefully be travelling up again in the New Year

With all the work that has been done to the Millbrook it has truly paid off. The Millbrook is fantastic to look at. Although the outside has pretty much stayed the same when you take a look inside its a different story. Truly amazing. The function rooms and private gardens make it perfect for an all inclusive wedding. Really worth a look around and don't forget to try the fantastic food too.

Not a bad Sunday lunch, bit pricey for what it actually was, 2 slices of lamb, 1 roast spud, a portion of mashed spud and some veg with some gravy. I had to ask for mint sauce, strange that mint sauce appeared to be a bit of a problem when they had lamb on the menu. The food was tasty and just enough to fill you up, not by any means big portions. I would visit again, but only as a last resort. There are better around.

After hearing good reviews regarding the quality of the Sunday carvery we decided to pop in with family after a long morning out in Belfast. We were greeted on arrival by the receptionist and proceeded into the carvery. We were shown to our table and then pretty much abandoned without any information or explanation as to where anything was or what to do. No one offered us a drink. We proceeded to help ourselves from the remains of the very basic range of cold starters which included an abundance of boiled eggs. Nothing was labelled and there were nuts in a curry rice salad (allergy sufferers nb). The children ate some rather watery prawns and enjoyed a few chunk of watermelon but not too much of anything else appealed to them. We didn't even see the soup and bread until afterwards. We proceeded to the roast dinner and there was beef, ham and Turkey available. Roast (deep fried?) and mash potato, cocktail sausages and a breadcrumb stuffing. Veg was truly shocking; some very over cooked carrots swiming in butter, a dubious broccoli cheese sauce disintegration/gloop 'mornay', gravy and the normal condiments. We asked for fresh veg and were duly advised the chef would prepare something - after some 10-15 mins a dish of beautiful fresh broccoli was delivered to our table and looked vibrant and appetising however was so undercooked that even the most hardened veggie couldn't have managed it. Don't get me wrong what we had was pretty much edible but it could have been so so much better - why not prepare some proper roasties that have a bit of character, what about a Yorkshire pudding or two for texture, what about some less than very well done beef with a bit rendered down fat on top. I believe my main gripe is how much this lunch cost and what poor value for money it was, I never bemoan the cost as long as I feel a good meal was had however today sadly this wasn't the case. On the plus side the female waiting staff were pleasant and attentive and brought drinks etc once we asked them to. The girls and kitchen staff were helpful and brought the two children some different food (which was very accommodating and the reason I gave 2 stars) as they wouldn't eat the carvery and both our kids love a good roast dinner. As our mother was treating us to this lunch we did not complain or make any fuss as this would have upset her however I think it will go without saying that we won't be back.
