Our hired car arrived 40 mins after our booked time with no apology from the rep who brought it. We were also informed on handover that, having paid extra for a car with sat-nav, that they had disabled it in all their cars due to theft, but no offer of a refund. When they were approached about negotiating contract terms by similarly affected guests, they we were told to take it up with head office as they could not do anything about it. No answer from head office when called so will be writing an e-mail.

Nice fella Matthew called to confirm details after I booked online - I asked where I needed to leave the car / if there was anything I needed to know, and he told me no. Turns out there was - I got charged as much for not refuelling the car as it costed to hire for the four days(!) When I called on Friday to ask where the additional fee came from I got no answer and after specifically asking for a call-back, I didn’t get one. Told me it was “in the Ts and Cs” and that was it. Shame! Seemed like a good deal / nice chap on the phone initially, but now feel shafted and pissed off with the customer service. No more Avis for me - thieves!

It is a bit hard to find since it is located in a hotel. Try to call the agency several times but it was always goes to the voicemail.
