Had lunch here. It's excellent. The chef's special is basically whatever you want. Good service, good food. My daughter just loved the mango lassi. Well and truly recommended.

I have been to many Indian restaurants in glasgow, scotland, england and europe. i read the reviews below and some make me smile. this restaurant is by far one of the best food experiences I have had when it comes to restaurants never mind just Indian. Yes it takes a little longer for your food but i would rather wait for fresh food rather than pre made gunk like most Indian restaurants serve. The fish pakora has to be the lightest and freshest pakora i have ever had, with a kick which i just love. i would also recommend the Aubergine fritters. they had specials on and i choose the lamb shanks, which just melted of the bone, not too hot but just so much flavour i couldn't stop eating. this website seems to betray good and bad but i have to say anytime we visit glasgow, scotland we always visit Assams and i have never had a complaint. they gave out complimentary what i would call a pizza in the shape of a nan bread. we loved it it like a curry on top of a nan with Indian cheese well worth a try too. keep up the great work, were back next month

Really disappointed over an hour waiting time for our starter, and when it came it was vegtable pakora and not chicken like we ordered. Others were complaining about slow service and one man stormed out not paying for his drink. They were not well organised either with them giving others the wrong courses. Overall would not recommend, definitely not going back !

Food was generally ok, nicely laid out restaurant. The indian pop music from an old radio didn't really contribute though and waiters came across as uninterested. Not the best in town.

Beautiful restaurant, great service. the food was just outstanding. fish pakora was to die for. ginger lime fish curry really gave me a kick. fantastic flavours

I enjoyed Assam's to an extent. My starter was gorgeous but the main course left me feeling queasy. I have only been once, and perhaps a second trip would change my mind on the food but I felt it was not worth the money. The decor inside is very nice, if a little small and cramped though.

Loved their curry and chili chicken. Their foods always fresh which explains a tad bit of extra waiting but totallyyyy worth it. definitely recommend!

Food not great, not value for money also you can smell cigarette smoke from a staff member smoking cigarettes in the building which we asked about. We were sitting at the back of the restaurant, but were told nobody was smoking which was clearly lies!

Owner & staff treat customers with no respect. Food is digusting waste of time even paying a visit! Also is it necessary for the staff and owner to be being inappropriate in front of customers. Vulgar behaviour
