What a wee gem of a place. I'm not going to tell you that it's the best curry you'll ever have, but what it is, is unpretentious, delicious, and different. From serving dahl and curry with a spectacularly Glaswegian Morton's morning roll, to the wee touches like the Thums Up cola, and freshly made lassi... Everything seems designed to make you smile. This place is FUN - and the hospitality industry needs more of that.
You get the feel of an authentic Indian street food stall, and I guess they follow authentic recipes, but the food here is not good. It doesn't have the freshness and aromatic quality of the real McCoy in India. It tastes metallic, spices taste old. It's a disappointment
What a fab little place! I turned up for a late breakfast and had a bowl of dhal with a deep fried bun Scottish delicacy, I'm told both where very tasty. I wish I had more time, and more room to try other dishes as they all looked good. For the price, service which was pleasant prompt and courteous, and teh quality of the food I'm happy to give Babu 5 stars. Go find out more.
Holy crap.. This place is amazing. Food was delicious, proper Indian food. Would definitely recommend and come back. Service was excellent too. The server went through the menu and explained everything
I just had Mutton curry and its rubbish. It taste like atleast 4-5 days old and does not taste like mutton. I asked the server to pack curd in a seperate box and i don't it made her furious. Gave only 2 tea spoon in a seperate box. And the price mentioned on website is different what is on the actual menu. Will not pay for such rubbish food :
Great little find, lovely fresh food
Was really excited to eat from their food truck at the Merchant City Festival after reading reviews online. I ordered the tikka masala with a "naan". What I got was a really watery chicken stew that tasted nothing like masala and a flour tortilla. I echo the sentiment of a previous review that said there are more genuine Indian restaurants to eat at in Glasgow. I give two stars for the quirky branding and the potential that lies within. Perhaps, some collaboration with local Indian chefs to train staff on authentic Indian cuisine, could really up the product you are offering.
Given the good reviews here was really looking forward to this place. Very disappointed with the food. The foods preprepared , and the staff are expected to play chef. If ur looking for a pretend Indian food then probably this is the place for you otherwise Glasgow has better authentic indian restaurants
Lovely dhal with rice - so fresh and tasty! Amazing chocolate brownie too. Lovely staff and interesting music collection :D will definitely be back.
A smaller selection of options, but this pays off with quality. Great wee place. Though primarily targeted at take away there is limited seating. If you like your Thumbs Up Cola, they have you covered!
