We recently dined in Green Gates Cafe for a special occasion and were very pleased with the food and the service. They have wide variety of dishes especially for vegetarians/vegan and can customise those as per your spice comfort level. The test was very authentic Indian. The Soya Chap, Paneer Tikka and Paneer Butter Masala, Daal Makhani were particularly delicious. The service was above and beyond, the manager was able to suggest alternate dish for main course based on our feedback for starters and the suggestion was indeed better choice than what we would have otherwise ordered. Vegetarian options: The restaurant has wide choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes from chat or tofu starters to main course
This is the best Indian Food I have had in my time abroad. Firstly, the food was super duper good. Chicken tikka and Paneer tikka were actual INDIAN dishes and not modified versions. Served with authentic tikka massala and chutney just like it is originally prepared. Kadhai Paneer, Chana Masaala were finger licking and the Garlic Cheese naan was the best naan I have had ever.cheese and garlic could be tasted properly The aroma of the food itself was enough to judge the taste. Secondly, the owner, Mr. Bali's hospitality is above beyond any words. He keeps an eye on every customer and ensures food is delivered on time. Third, the quantity of the food was amazing. Last but not least, the space, aesthetics and INDIAN feel was top notch. We loved each bite of our food. Also, gulab jamun with ice cream was the cherry on top!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful food & decor, even better service! Well worth the visit if you’re looking for a good Indian bite — the tapas style makes it perfect to try a bit of everything & share or not. Would absolutely come back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Service was attentive, food was tasty and spicy. For our mains we had Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic Naan. All were beautifully flavoured with lovely fresh ingredients. Unlike many Indian meals they were not at all oily. Definitely one of the best Indian meals that I have ever tasted. The food was superb but the waiter's service also ensured that we had a really enjoyable meal. We will definitely return.
Classy Indian Restaurant in centre of Glasgow serving authentic Indian food. Great ambiance, excellent food and smiling service add up to wonderful dining experience. We had dinner on two days and were really pleased with our request of Khichdi & Pakoda kadi served. Must visit during trip to Glasgow.
First time at Green Gates Cafe and will definitely be returning. Lovely atmosphere, and the food was delicious - my favourite was the butter chicken curry. We ordered the fish pakora, which was ok, but felt the batter was too thick. This is my opinion as my partner enjoyed it. Also, peshwari naan had a syrup over it, a bit too sticky for me. Overall though will 100% be coming back.
Really tasty Indian food! Really enjoyed the tapas style menu! Butter chicken and paneer tikka were particularly tasty!
Itison deal, supplements were a minefield. More expensive for the mixed grill than what was advertised and apparently the seafood included fish which wasn't clear. We liked everything we ordered except the lamb shank, plenty of shank and no lamb so we felt a bit short-changed. Rich lamb curry was the best dish, it melted in the mouth. Right spice level and morish.
Had a delicious tapas meal 3 plates early Sunday evening with my wife. Lovely atmosphere and great service. We were given a dessert to sample, free of charge, Deli Fried Ice Cream which had only been introduced for Valentines Day very tasty Will return to sample more dishes.
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. We are vegetarian and ordered 4 dishes. Everything was great. The service is incredible. We got complimentary prestarter and on request they gave our daughter some pomegranate seeds. Definitely will recommend to everyone.
