All of the reception staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. In particular Gaynor always goes above and beyond to assist and cannot do enough to help and even knows our names which is nice extra touch. I regularly need to attend with my children and usually see Dr Laws, Trudi Lowe or Dr Alkadeeri and I cannot recommend them enough. They are all friendly, knowledgeable and empathetic, and on occasions when I've taken my children and they haven't actually needed antibiotics they have never once made me feel as if I shouldn't have taken them in. They are great with my young children and go the extra mile to make sure they're ok, sometimes with follow up calls from Dr Alkadeeri, and Trudi also stayed behind on one occasion to make sure my son got the medication he really needed which we were struggling to get hold of due to a manufacturing issue. I'd definitely recommend this surgery and I'm very grateful to them for their help over the past few years.
I never thought I'd be compelled to write a review about a Doctor's Surgery but here it is! All the staff on reception were bright, cheerful and welcoming and then there was the physiotherapist, Danny Parkinson! The consultation lasted 10-15 minutes and in that time, Danny explained in brilliant and simple detail, put my mind at rest and when I left, I genuinely felt better already, armed with new exercises and a concise understanding of what had gone wrong with my neck. Sometimes, being armed with knowledge, from a consumate professional, can go a long way in propelling you down the road of recovery. Thank you Danny and keep up that positivity for others. A true star!
Worst doctors i have ever experienced. Impossible to speak directly to the surgery, can only get through to a switch board. Recently registered our son here and we where left waiting with a newborn baby in reception half an hour past our appointment time. While waiting not one person went in or came out and there was no one else in the waiting room. Then we were told someone would ring to book us in for mum and baby checks and no one did. Then when my wife turned up for the appointment which we had to ring up and book they had booked us in a week early so our baby could have his injections. Absolutely horrendous.
First time at this doctors surgery and feel very disappointed. I am 36 weeks pregnant and had to wait over 2 weeks to get an appointment. On the morning of my appointment I get a phone call asking me can I come in earlier due to the doctor cancling my original appointment to which I agreed.nI attend the surgery earlier as requested to then be sat waiting for a good 45 minutes before even being seen. When I finally get called in and speak with the doctor I felt I was rushed through my appointment and not listened to. The doctor dismissed my issues and gave me little feedback or advice. The feedback that was given was very contradictory. The doctor told me to stop taking my antibiotics that had been perscribed by the hospital department pria and insted perscribed me a ibuprofen gel advising me to apply this 3 times a day. Once recieving this it was to my horror that I discover this medication is harmful to pregnant women and the unborn child. I repeatedly asked was the gel Ok to use while pregnant and this doctor said yes! Its just a good job that I had my whits about me and was clued up to not use this medication. It even specifically said on the box that it was not suitable for pregnant women and could cause serious harm to the unborn baby and mother. To me this is a serious and reckless negligence by the practioner. It comes to something when you can't even trust the professionals and get more information from Google! So far I have not had a great experience with the care system during this time of need while being 8 months pregnant and its a very sad and dire situation for anyone who needs care in this country. When ringing the practice to inform them about the gel not being suitable for pregnant women to use, as lovely as the women was who I spoke to I was advised to ring the pharmacy and was told its there job to check these things when passing on drugs to the public so in otherwords passing the book. I rang the pharmacy to who then asked me did my doctor know I was pregnant to which I confirmed yes they did. The pharmacy then asked were would i be applying the gel, I answered, the ankle..There response to this was it should be Ok to apply to the ankle and because your doctor has prescribed it knowing your pregnant it should be Ok. My thoughts to this was what does it matter which part of the body I am applying the gel to? Either way it is going to get into my blood stream and is specifically warned not to use when pregnant because of the risks and dangers it can cause to an unborn baby and the complications and risks in which it poses for mother and baby during birth. I refused to use the cream because of this to be told to ring back the surgery to inform the practice that I'm not comfortable in using the gel.nThe reception lady advised me to ring at 8am the following morning to see if I can get another appointment with another doctor. To say I am unhappy is an understatement.nAlways do your research and trust your own judgements would be my advice. I do not have much faith in this doctor after my experience today.
There is 1 good doctor at this surgery who actually cares about her patients and will go above and beyond to help. Trudi is amazing with my little boy as he has been poorly on and off since being a baby and she always does everything she can to help! She treats him like he’s her own she is always welcoming and does not rush you or make you feel like you don’t know what you’re talking about as other doctors do!nHad a few different doctors when Trudi is unfortunately fully booked up who just don’t seem to care and love the word “viral” infection I think it’s the only medical term some of them know, when clearly there is more going on! So a big thank you to Trudi for always making sure my baby gets the care he deserves! She always goes above and beyond and I can see why she is the only doctor who seems to ever be fully booked up!
