I ended up in hospital on 6th of May with suspected blood clot. Hospital did various tests and it turned out I had fluid build up in my chest. Hospital told me to see my GP and ask for referral for heart scan as my heart is enlarged. Got appointment with nurse practitioner who told me to go back next day, 8th, for blood tests. I a also have reduced kidney function which shows on my blood tests. Test results have been back a few days now and despite myself and my husband asking about them we have been told that no one has looked at them yet! I have explained that my mothers death was partly due to kidney cancer but to no avail. I am sick of repeatedly being sent for blood tests and asked for urine samples when nothing is actually being done when tests come back! If you want a doctors that doesn't listen or can't be bothered to do anything for you then this practice is perfect. If however you want a GP who cares about their patients then go elsewhere. Would give no stars if I could!
Confused as these reviews are so conflicting. Some say great surgery, very helpful and some say very bad don't bother joining. Surely they cannot be both!! I recently moved late last year and apart from hard to get a quick appointment, have found the receptionists helpful and polite and the Dr's I have seen, also polite and not rushing you. I will see how this surgery goes before hastening to another practice who could have the same appointment problems. The NHS is broken but I feel they are doing their best at this practice. The Alliance service is a good option but they also are in a difficult position appointment wise as I need to go to this surgery not being very mobile and do not drive.
You can't get an appointment for over a month.nGP Alliance can book you appointments for the same or next day and even booked me in AT MY OWN DOCTORS, that couldn't fit me in.nAbsolutely terrible docs. They also prescribe you things that are over the counter, don't tell you what is prescribed and you don't get paper prescriptions these days to check so you pay a tenner for things you can get in Asda or boots for under a quid.nThe staff and docs really don't care.nI was struggling to stand up the other day in reception and a girl had come out from being seen by the doc and had a 5 mins conversation about her holiday with the receptionist whilst I was waiting to let her know I'd arrived for my appointment.n24 days wait for a phonecall to discuss results is a joke.
I feel I need to post this, we are new to the practice but I can honestly say the reception staff and ANP Trudy have been amazing. Today I rang late because my daughter was ill, they directed me to services that could help. I must also point out that last week I was appalled to witness a member of the public speak to the receptionist in a disgusting manner, I work in a General Medical practice and I know how hard the reception staff work, usually working under GP directions to ensure you are directed to the correct practitioner . Give them a break and treat them with respect!
My wife who is a pensioner phoned yesterday at 8.00am and was told there where no appointments available for her to see a female staff member, and they cannot book an appointment the day before, so was told to phone again first thing today which she did again at exactly 8.00, to be told again Trudy was fully booked? How when you can't book the Day before and it's only one minute past 8.00?nI know that the practice keeps slots open for people who walk in, this is unfair we are very very disappointed with the service at this practice, it should not be so difficult to see a female practitioner??nI'm not surprised at the low marks given for patients satisfaction at this practice?
