Stores within a store. Yes, you have stores within the inside of Asda including New Look and Accessorise. There's even an opticians and a beauty treatment section. The store is let down though by the till service area. There are plenty of self serve tills which are of course rammed, but with lots of red lights flashing on them people were left standing for ages. Not enough staff to attend on a Saturday afternoon. Staff operating tills are only a few, and quite frankly there's not enough of them. Too many queues on exit and it was chaos. Until they have this sorted I'd avoid at the weekends.. Apart from that it's a massive store, and worth a visit. Lots of food eating areas on entrance too. Bulk buy section at the back.
Refit finished and store look good. Loads of new features including multiple places to eat, draught beer outlet, weigh and save station and Decathlon products. An interesting makeover to try and offer something different over other Superstores.
Huge choice could easily spend a day in this place, love the refill stations fantastic choice and range went in for a nosey came out ££ lighter
My family have been shopping here for over 10 years. It’s always been a mix of good and fair service. Good to see more self service till opened but better if they are at least manned all the time due to technical issues with these self scanners. It’s not good to keep customers hanging for help with a system that is supposed to make life easier and faster.
I use to love coming here but since the refurbishment I no longer enjoy. I want to shop George not New Look or any of the other brands they have let space to, which are usually out of my budget. It seems more spacious but there is less choice and the food court is too expensive. A simple, reasonably priced Asda cafe was better. I'm sure others like it but it's not for me anymore
Visited today with my 7 year old daughter to spend her Xmas money on toys/clothes. I approached a lady on the cheese isle and asked her if they had a certain cheese. She in which replied she was busy at that time and I would have to wait. I then had to avoid a click and collect college as he was coming at me with his trolly so I avoided him and my daughter ended up bumping her head. He did ask if she needed medical assistance but no remorse for what he had caused. I then proceeded to leave and needed help at self checkout, I made eye contact with a young lady and waved my hand and smile in which I was ignored until I asked for help on the screen in which I was still waiting. She eventually came over. Overall a very upsetting disappointing day. Extremely rude customer service. I won’t be returning. Made to feel unwelcome. Staff are extremely rude.
Where have all the shallow trolleys gone? You know, the only ones that really fit at the self-service tills as you've built in a shelf for baskets. They're now rarer than invisible pink unicorns.
Good selection of products . Very busy in there today Saturday 12th November. Men's Toilets could do with a good clean as left in a mess from previous customers. Did mention this to a member of staff but we were on our way out so don't know if or when it got sorted.
We went on the Xmas crazy week to do some last-minute prep for the family with munchies and alcohol and some trimmings. All was OK until we got to the seasonal area. Then it looked like the riots of London had happened in the store. The Isles for the Xmas munchies like cheeselets......mini-cheddars......twiglets..........ect. and there was no sign of anything. Normally in my previous visits the entire back wall of asda used to be the area for Xmas treats but since they changed the store it seems no one knows where anything is. Some may say I left it to late but normally there was always fully stacked shelves of this stuff............PRETZELS......... NO PRETZELS EITHER!!! But still a good store regardless.
On a weekday, there is only 1 person in the customer service area, I queued up for 20+ mins with a baby to get the info on items that didn’t have a label from the far side of the store clothing. Then the till did not scan the scan and go barcode from the phone application so had to unpack and put everything on the belt. Tedious and annoying, especially when I had to pop out with a baby and rush home before she started to cry. Why upgrade all the tills and the store if there is not enough staff or the equipment is not compatible with a simple phone app?
