They selling rotten chives, actually is a big luck to get nice green dry chives as I'm shopping there at least 3 times per week. Also dill and coriander usually doesn't look appetising. Self-check out doesn't have enough staff in peak hours there is one member of staff usually. Sometimes there is none, not often but it shouldn't happen.
*UPDATE 8/4/24* Still no improvements to queue system operations.nnAnother day, another poorly managed checkout queue. I used to work retail and above all else maintaining a functioning checkout flow was paramount. Whoever continues to run the checkouts at Asda Leyton under the store manager is an embarrassment of the SMs poor leadership. This is a normal occurrence at Leyton Asda, despite complaints months ago nothing attempted to address this systemic management failure.nn*UPDATE* Same Queue problems again and empty tills, staff on the shop floor instead of relieving queues. Its bad store management.
This is the second time this month that I’m leaving the store frustrated. The first time this happened I was shopping late in the evening after work and I was using the self scan to buy and bag my shopping quickly but when I went to pay they said that I should scan everything again because they didn’t have charged scanning machines to do the check. After I told them to speak with a manager they managed to find a scanner but to my nightmare the lady removed everything from my bags to scan my shopping with a attitude she then put everything upside down back to my bags, I had to spend 40 minutes more at the shop and the only response I was given was “I told you to scan your shopping again”.nSecond occasion I was using self checkout when a security asked me to check my rucksack, I was focusing on paying and I just gave him my rucksack, I asked why I’m being search and he said my rucksack looked heavy and I needed to be searched. I told him before doubting me that I stole anything he should look at the cameras because the rucksack was the same size when I entered the store and I wasn’t finished paying. And I had passed security perfectly fine!nI’m almost 40 years old and I have never been searched in my life, it was very offensive to be searched in the middle of shopping, I have no words to describe how bad I felt.

The withered plants was a sad sight too.nStaff usually friendly and helpful, but have been misguided in small number of occasions.nHappy with the opticians; very convenient to have it there.
An odd rotten smell as you walk in to this branch, which is extremely unpleasant and gets worse as you walk into the store.nnProducts are randomly placed at the end of aisles in trolleys and yet most of the shelves are empty. A mismanaged store.nnI went in on 2nd June 2024. Picked some goods and as I was waiting in the queue noticed that the short bread biscuits I had in my trolley had a best before date of 24th April 2024, the biscuits were over a month past it’s use by date. What was more shocking was that I passed the packet on to a customer advisor who reacted as if he was shocked but walked away and put the packet on the desk and told no one and carried on with his job like it was nothing. I should have actually reported it to trading standards and maybe they would have done something about it…
