This happened in greenbridge, but I’m afraid is General to all stores across the country. I post this so you are aware. Often you will see advertised free gift vouchers. £5 if you spend £50, £10 if £100. I was given such a voucher during August. I went to spend it in October. Just 2 months, and it was expired. Apparently I should have been told at the time it was only valid for a month. I was not. Most Gift cards you get from retailers are 2 years for expiry. and most will honour past that! Neither the Manager in store or Head Office could care less, so I spent the money in the Boots Store across the road. It’s not the first issue I have had with Argos Customer Service in recent years. Unfortunately their service is poor at best and has been steadily getting worse for a long time. Far better retailers out there to spend your money with.
Very easy, very quick; friendly person on checkout and collection. It would have been nice if they had asked if I needed help to carry my purchases out to my car, as I had 3 items, but I managed ok so not really a problem it would have just made things easier
Unfortunately it all went very wrong when I purchased a mobile phone for my wife. Due to a mix up in the description the assistant opened the packet to let her view it and assured us we had 14 days to return it if we got it home and were unhappy with it. Well she was unhappy so back it went only to be told that as the phone had been turned on so it was exempt from their returns policy! A very long and fairly unprofessional debate with the customer services manager talking over me and sighing a lot followed, the up shot of which is I'm now stuck with a brand new phone and have had to go out and buy another one from Tesco who do have a no quibbles return policy! This policy affects all electrical goods and as you can't view them before purchase I would strongly advise looking elsewhere for electrical items.
What an aweful experience, last Saturday before Christmas, no early opening, so quite a big queue when doors finally opened. Selected my item within the first couple of minutes only to find four of the six auto pay machines not working so had to wait for the normal tills. Only two tills open, one of which taken by a customer who wanted to look at everything he was purchasing. Took twenty five minutes just to pay the another 15 mins to get my item. I know it's Christmas and must expect it to take a little longer than usual but the number of staff maning both the tills and the collection area was pitiful. But I was the lucky one close to the front of the queue the other customers were vertically queuing out the door when I left. I wouldn't be surprised if Argos were one of the retailers moaning after Christmas about poor sales.
Horrific levels of customer service. Thankfully with a low value item. Suppose it saves me finding out how the staff talk to customers and their interpretation of something or working or not. AVOID #PoorCustomerService #AvoidArgos
Poor experience in Argose at Greenbridge Retail Park, Swindon. We wanted to return the goods because we have 30 days to return, the manager Bet was brazen, arrogant. She said we should sell the goods where we want. It is played by the manager and at the same time she is not able to act in general. The customer comes first, argos has profits due to the customer. They should be aware of this. They sell second hand goods, many times it happened that I had goods that someone had in front.
Just wanted to highlight the fantastic service we received from a staff member called Karin when we took a lawnmower back for refund We had lost the receipt but knew we had bought it on our Argos card She went above and beyond to trace this purchase
They don't accept returns if you open box, manager Sohaib very rude and aggressive. Never ever will use Argos.
Poor stock, many items have to be ordered for delivery. Defeats the whole point of an Argos Store. Argos retail card - exceptionally poor Customer Service. Don't bother.
Always happy with my experience in the store. Staff are really helpful and go above and beyond and it is easy enough to order or click and collect.
