Totally incompetent and rude staff on live chat.....could not answer my query or provide me with a reasonable response as to why the item was available for delivery, installation and recycle but not available for delivery alone. Totally ridiculous if you ask me seems like a scam to force people to pay an extra £50 for a service they do not require. On the plus side just purchased a better washing machine for the same price plus free delivery and arriving tomorrow from currys pc world!!!! Will not use Argos again!!!

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM ARGOS! On Tuesday this week I had a delivery of two sofas from Agos. When the delivery van finally pulled up (after trying to previously deliver my sofa to the wrong addreds) I was met by the most arrogant driver. The driver and his mate unloaded my brand new snuggle chair by dragging it by the plastic it was in and down the lorry on to the floor. They then proceeded to literally ram the edge of the chair into my brick wall at the side of the house. When they finally got it in my room I tried to unwrap it as quickly as I could so I could look for damage. In the mean time I could hear the delivery men dragging my 3 seater sofa down my corridor next to the house. I managed to get the plastic off of my sofas enough to see that there were stains all over the three seater and that the 2 snuggle chair had a hole in it where your delivery men rammed it in yo my wall. I pointed out the problems to the delivery men and they were not interested. The driver just walked back to the van and the drivers mate told me to sign paper. I wrote on the paper what the issues were and of they went. They didn't offer to call your office, they didn't apologise and take the damaged chairs away and arrange for new ones to be delivered as matter of urgency like I would expect from good customer service. I was totally appalled! Moving on... I called your "customer service team" straight away. The call was answered by what I can only describe as a child. She didn't have a clue what she was doing, couldn't find my order and didn't once apologise for what I had exoerienced. When I asked for a supervisor she just hung up!!! How could I be treated so badly by your customer service team after what had just happened to my brand new sofas I was so looking forward to receiving! I then phoned back and finally spoke to someone who could help. I am really unhappy with the way things have progressed since my calls. I got a refund of £60 for the three seater sofa which is stained. This for some reason is being classed as "a goodwill gesture"! It is not a goodwill gesture and does not even cover the cost of having the sofa cleaned. May I also add that I should not have to get a brand new sofa cleaned in the first place!!. The snuggle chair is being replaced but not for weeks! Also at times that are not suitable for me. I should not be put out by your delivery mens mistakes and should be given priority of dates that suit me. I have a footstool being delivered by you on Sunday and even after three further emails to your customer service team, I have not been given a good reason as to why you will not exchange then. Details in my further three emails to your customer service team have been completely ignored and I am just totally disgusted by this whole experience. I will not be leaving this complaint here and will be taking matters further. You delivered faulty goods and are now refusing to handle my complaint satisfactorily.

The service at this store is remarkable, willing staff who search for items and go well beyond the extra mile. Yesterday an assistant noticed, while loading my car, unasked, that I had a flat tyre. He then obtained a pump from another store assistant and attempted to pump up the tyre. Discovered , in fact, there was a puncture. Then, with the manager's permission (God bless him )set about changing the tyre for my spare. I could never imagine such a level of courtesy and care would be possible. So thanks to the manager thanks to the assistant who lent his pump, thanks to the assistant who appeared in order to lend more muscle, and a very, very special thank you to the assistant who noticed my flat and co-ordinated the fixing . All done with a smile and willing good grace. You are fantastic. Yes, I'm a big Homebase fan.
