I’m writing this after 2 months of my visit to London, I’m a literature lover so i thought of visiting a second hand book store. My husband and I were travelling and I took an hour off from my trip to visit archive I had no internet connection so I walked merely on map to archive. I reached there n saw an interesting collection of books the owner was an amazing person. He suggested me to visit some other books stores but I mentioned that I don’t have an internet connection so he literally drew the map for me on the paper and was really humble to speak to. I honestly had no good experience with people in London but he made my day. That was one of my highlights from the trip. I hope you read this sir…. Wanted to make your day the way you made mine. Thank you.
There is everything you can imagine, from music, architecture, medicine, and so on… the owner is really kind and thoughtful!
Me and my husband visited this book store in search of old books. The store has a small upstairs of books and downstairs of music related things. Despite the very small space there are a ton of books very old and old but modern. There are some hidden gems if you are willing to search through and behind the stacks. Also ask about the student discount and save some extra money!
Fabulous old school secondhand book shop, filled to the roof with lovely old books and printed music. Tim the owner is a proper gentleman and you can even have a tinkle on the piano downstairs if the mood takes you!
Tim and his little bookshop literally made my day
A treasure trove of used books. Not for the faint-hearted as the many boxes and piles makes reaching many of the books challenging. I didn’t get downstairs as I didn’t have a lot of time - too bad. If you have the time and the patience and love old books you may be rewarded with some good finds here.
A wonderfully eclectic bookstore. Filled to the rafters with books, a bibliophiles paradise where time and browsing will result in more finds. A vast selection of sheet music but I was taken with the Irish section - bijou, select and unexpected.
Friendly owner and full of charm. Always has discounted books out in the front for people to take a look at. Piano downstairs to play if you're able!
One of the coolest bookstores I have ever been inside. It remind me of those quaint archive areas in large library’s. Obscure titles, the smell of aging paper and authors that have disappeared into antiquity. A great place to spend hours on end. I left with 5 books, no doubt I will be back! The owner is quite accommodating as well.
Situated on the somnambulant end of Bell Street under the shadow of the redundant Georgian Christ Church. An enduring offbeat presence smothered with a disarming disarray of books covering most genres, a large inventory of music manuscripts/scores and the rest. Potently inviting to book-lovers but also likely to appeal to the urban explorer with a keen-eye for the abstruse.
