Sometimes I feel like we're living in a medieval with the censorship of books there is in the world. Most of book shops and publishing houses are getting paid by the KSA not to sell certain books, since they're are controversially explaining Islam in different ways than Islamic community wants. I was looking for a book by one Sudanese philosopher Mohammed Mahmoud and didn't find it in the USA, Germany...I searched a lot and finally these guys had it. It honestly is one of the best Arabic bookshops in the world.
Al Saqi Book Store is probably the best Arabic Book store in London. It has wide selections of books for both Arabic and international authors. I used to go to Al Saqi to get books for years. I noticed that recently that it seems to have more limited selection especially for the new books. I hope that they pay more attention to new releases of translated international book not just the Arabic ones.

Al Saqi is a little gem of a bookstore. The shop’s name is beautiful - meaning the one who satisfies your thirst. This is true of their catalogue, with a wide range of interesting and provocative titles on offer. Some of the books here are difficult to find anywhere else. They are also a publishing house, supporting new writers and authors that dare to deviate from the mainstream and to challenge the accepted truth. I try to visit every time I am in London, and always spend more than I had planned. Knowing how threatened high street bookshops have become from the likes of Amazon etc, I really hope this bookstore remains open. Pros: Interesting and unique titles. Central London location. Passionate and well informed owner. Cons: Limited opening times. Very basic website difficult to search and purchase online. Dated interior shop design but this adds to its charm!
Amazing library.. a pleasure to tour between books and titles. Customer service is excellent and abu Talib knowledge of titles, authors, books location is unrivaled. This place becomes my weekly a must destination. Highly recommended for everyone looking for the food of the mind
Probably the best Arabic bookshop in London. The inventory of Al Saqi is immense, as you'll probably find most of what you're looking for here. The downside here is the outrageously high prices, but I think this down to the high rent value for shops in London. Overall, recommended.
I didn’t find any Arabic book shop in Switzerland, so i was happy to find Arabic book library in London. I didn’t find exactly what I’m looking for , no books for two years old babies , but i bought some stories that i can maybe try to read for my two years boy
