Misled customer - paid close to a thousand pounds for the garments and they are not wearable

I purchased close to a thousand pounds worth of garments with this store about 3 weeks ago. The purchase contains 2 pairs of trousers and a trench coat. As i am of small build, those garments needed to be altered to fit which is usually the case and are normally done very satisfactorily by other retailers. I already paid upfront in full the alteration costs that were quoted to me at the outset. Naturally and as often is the case with other retailers, you expect the garments to be altered to your satisfaction.

However, the trousers came back to me totally unfit and as baggy as ever, suggesting either the seamstress was poor or the alteration job shoddy. I called back the shop to ask for an appointment again with the tailor to get it done, and was promised a call back which never happened. I had to chase them again just now only to be told I would incur extra charges if the trousers were to be altered again - which was totally unfair as the shoddy job was done through no fault of my own.

Now I could risk paying another hundred pounds for the further alteration needed (who knows how many more times it would take for them to get it right?) and they would not accept a refund. They clearly misled me at the point of purchase - no one told me that I would need to continue paying for alteration like this until they "get it right" - btw the alteration cost could equal another pair of trousers in another shop.

My advice: don't touch this with a stick - they are not upfront with you and there are hidden charges. No peace of mind. Lots of hassles with multiple phone calls and trips to the shop. Definitely won't buy again from this shop or this brand. Hugo boss for example does a much better job.

A bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes lovely and helpful staff, sometimes I get ignored for 20 minutes and then I leave. Nothing against the brand in general.
