My 96 year old sister spent four weeks at Appleby Court for rehabilitation. After two multidisciplinary meetings that were a complete waste of time, no decisions were made & the social worker & Appleby Court staff were hell bent on discharging her to her living accommodation with no written care plan or mental assessment although it was obvious that she was neither mentally or physically fit to go home. In the final hour a doctor did make a mental assessment & concluded that she needed hospital treatment at Aintree Hospital where she is now much improved but still needing psychiatric treatment treatment, During the transfer some of Enid's clothes & artefacts went missing. My wife & a friend called at Appleby to enquire if the items were still in the home but the two members of staff they spoke showed little interest. Since then I received a phone call from a nurse to say she knew of two carrier bags on the premises & would I phone her back, I have since phoned back three times & each time been fobbed off with lame excuses that the bags can not be accessed.nMy impression of Appleby Court although spotlessly clean & tidy is that they do not have sufficiently qualified staff to assess patients in re-hab or staff trained to deal with every dayproblems.nDavid Haskell

my dad Ken Gadd stayed here for end of life care.  I cannot thank the team enough, they gave my dad the professional and emotional care needed which extended his life for sure, giving him purpose to wake up each day.  The nurses Christine, Louise, Angie and Ronnie were all outstanding in dads and the families needs and Tina was professional in her approach yet understanding of dads care and needs.  The caring staff Keely, Maxine, Rachel, Kerry, Leah, Corrinda, Shine, Gabriel, Denise, Denise activities, Jackie they were all amazing and my dad loved them all and often commented on how brilliant they were.  The chefs including Sean aka peaches made my dad smile and often came in to discuss food choice also saying goodbye on his way home. Of a night when we dont realise that residents can be awake, Tony would sing and reminisce with dad and he absolutely loved that, priceless. All in all they made my Dads final weeks and days, memorable for us and as happy as they could be for my Dad including his birthday which was fantastic.

My Uncle stayed here for 2 and a half months for end of life care, for what we thought, would be a very short stay!nnWOW the staff were incredible and we genuinely feel that the staff extended his life. During that time, as a family we were able to create some extra special memories, including celebrating his birthday which we didn't think he would actually make when he first arrived and I cant thank them all enough.nnLouise, Christine, Tina, and Angie were so caring, knowledgeable, respectful and compassionate throughout his stay.nnHis amazing carers Keeley, Leah, Maxine, Rachel, Kerry, Tony, Corinda, Denise, Jackie who treated him with dignity and respect, and making him feel so welcome, safe and happy.nnShaun, the chef who cooked some lovely meals, would also come in most days for a chat and to engage with residents.nnI would recommend should anyone be looking.

I have just recently stayed here for  few weeks in the ICB, The staff are absolutely amazing, each and everyone of them are so caring and compassionate and nothing is to much trouble.nnI also got to see first hand how they treated their residents and again they are brilliant and caring  and compassionate with residents, whilst also attending  to their individual needs. And the entertainment they put on for residents is fab.nEvery single staff member I meet was so lovely and helpful.nI would 100 per cent recommend Appleby Court care home, for Living in residents and for ICB.nAnd Physiotherapy is everyday which is very helpful.nThank you everyone, you made my stay feel safe and pleasant, also all the rooms are lovely.nCan't thank you enjoy.nLisa

I cannot fault Appleby Court the staff day and night are amazing.   They cared for my dad in a professional manner and it was obvious that he was well loved by them all.nThey are professional, helpful and have gone out their way to support our family during a difficult time.   As a family we cannot thank you you enough.  Would highly recommend
