I cannot fault Appleby Court the staff day and night are amazing. They cared for my dad in a professional manner and it was obvious that he was well loved by them all.nThey are professional, helpful and have gone out their way to support our family during a difficult time. As a family we cannot thank you you enough. Would highly recommend
I'm giving a honest review as a agency worker. I've worked in many homes since age 16 I'm now 35. I can genuinely say hand on heart care standard here are unbelievable. Everything should be classed as unbelievable in care as should come natural but this in most care establishments. Here the residents are so relaxed and staff cater to them immediately. My initial feeling was a bingo hall where they're all gossiping and all at ease. Nothing is too much with staff. The managers which I've noticed 2 are very strict however no their staff have everything covered so don't need to roam floor. I found the fact managers allow staff to eat meals with residents very appealing as it made the situation of staff residents more family orientated. The residents in this home I find very able to adress a full conversation so therefore think anyone who is worried about their loved one adapting from home life to here would be easily adaptable. I've found here there is always plenty of staff where other places it's very short. I would live here myself.
What a horrible place to end up in. My mother’s with other residents’ stuff too jewelry was stolen by someone who got in at night and carried the safe off on a supermarket trolley! Inside job, who knows.nI was offered “cheap” goods by a senior member of staff.nThe staff used to humiliate any resident who queried why they were wearing someone else’s clothes.nStaff used to complain about immigration in the lounge which frightened my mother. My mother was the only brown face in the lounge. I did not complain due to the fear of reprisals.
My grandmother HAD to stay here for over 3 weeks after coming out of hospital. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there.nShe went in with brand new clothes, most of them went missing within a few days and she was wearing other patients clothes. Her water jug stood on her cabinet untouched for 5 days. She had been there a few days when one of the carers said she had been forgetting things, they didn’t even know she had vascular dementia she’s 94!!!nShe ended up getting taken to hospital with dehydration. We didn’t let her go back and decided to bring her home!
My nan is currently in here after coming out of hospital, they are rude to her, they talk about her as if she isn't there, I have tried to call to check up but constantly getting cut off and they won't let my nan call every time she asks to call they say in a minute and nothing ever happens, I'm really disappointed and angry at this place as they do not care about the people there. From a NHS health care assistant point of this place should be shut down as I feel it is inadequate and does provide the care and attention to the users of this place.nnI will be complaining to the mangers about this.
