Visited for the first time. The interior is cute and decorated well. Coffee is yum. However the worker their had her phone on loudspeaker and was taking a personal call. It started from a customer before me , then me and then the next customer. Wasn't professional and felt I was interrupting a private call...even though we were standing in a cafe! Please fix this !!
Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and great decaf coffee. Not many cakes left to choose from but that was half and hour before closing. Great find. My 4th visit now and they generally have a good selection of cakes. Tried the toasted chickpea and potato flatbread which was excellent and very filling. It’s just at one of the entrances to Plashet park, and there are a few tables and chairs outside if you want to dine alfresco. Note at lunch time the tables seem to get taken, I suspect, with people with packed lunches. Just been back and unfortunately chickpea potato curry flatbreads are off the menu, but just had a delicious kimchi cheese toasty. Yesterday I chose the marmite toasty, very tasty but had to leave the last bite.
Hidden Gem with Excellent Music and Delicious Breakfast Options! Applecart in East Ham is a hidden gem that surpasses any other place in the area. The ambiance is enhanced by their always good music selection. Their espresso is a solid 4/5, with a darker roast that isn't sour, and served at the perfect drinking temperature—a sure sign of quality. Breakfast is a must-try, with a variety of options available even after recent menu changes. The staff is incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They also offer a great range of toasties. Highly recommended!
Really like the food and ambience in here and the cafe staff are great BUT I paid for parking and the gate was locked when I arrived which was not cool as I was late for a meeting. One of the cafe staff helped me out as the rest of the building was closed 8.45am-9am in the morning arghhh… since writing this review and getting a reply from Applecart, I’ve just been back on the JustPark booking app to see if I’m going mad but no, I’m not… it’s possible to book parking before 9am so if the building doesn’t open before then, PLEASE change your availability on Just Park
Liked it hear . Was very busy, bit small theatre room. Short play but lovely staff and great vibes. Also has little quirky bar area and seating nice place that sits by a local park. Worth the visit parking near by also.
This venue and project have been wonderful surprises. I had a builder's tea at the café and the space had such a lovely vibe that I felt drawn to asked about it. Sasha, who served me, was an absolute delight and indulged my curiosity . Applecart Arts is a charity that is leasing the building and creating opportunities for local artists and the community. Can't wait to join their regular events .
We went there for a Youth talent show, one off event. Who knew so many younger talent live in Newham? A quality time and a great experience. Also now Applecart is open with a coffee shop.
It is a nice place for a quiet drink of coffee or something stronger. There is not a lot of space for larger groups.
Brilliant place to visit & watch a show. Our son was performing here.
Such a lovely space to enjoy a coffee and cake. The Sunday roast looked epic as well. Very welcoming for whole community as reflected by the variety of customers I saw during my visit. I haven't come across anything similar in the area. Thank you so much for creating a special place like this.
