Nice little local pub. Plenty parking. Out door seats. Lovely staff. They are doing food. But said they are looking into it. Once it does we so be going there. They also have a lovely butcher on Wednesday on the car park with some great offers
Just moved to the area was welcomed as if I'd lived there all my lifeService: 5/5
I’ve been to many pubs in my life and this pub is old school. Outstanding for a community pub with friendly locals in the bar and a lively lounge with music but not intrusive the service was friendly and couldn’t do enough for me and my family. When I’m in the area again I will most definitely go back Parking: Lots of parking in the bacj Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming and really looked after the kids
Lovely cosy atmosphere, with a hint of fun, this is a great place to drink & meet friends! Thanks to the new owner, who is trying his best to do events for the locals, always a good laugh.....
Nice place to go for a drink, play snooker, dart. Football fans can watch in 1 of the many tv screens available here. Great for birthday party with your family or friends. Usually bussy place on weekend and not really on weekdays. Nice original old style design, always clean and friendly atmosphere. Garden witch many bench and table great for summer nights. Huge free car park here as well.
Good local. Darts, pool, sports, good beer, friendly crowd Service: 5/5
Never got to have a drink at this place as I was lost. Thankfully the two lovely young ladies Mother and Daughter i think helped me find where I needed to go. Nice day for a walk. Thank you Ladies.
I went to see a live performance at the Anvil Inn and was not disappointed. The guest artist was great, and the drink was good. However, at the bar, a middle-aged caucasian man firmly grabbed my shoulder and asked, "Excuse me, can I ask, what are you doing here?" and I said, "I'm getting a drink." "No, what are you really doing here?" "I'm here for the music, and to get a drink, is there a problem?" "Is there going to be one?" "No!" "Are you sure? Is that all you're here for?" Looking around I realise I'm the only Chinese person in the pub. "Yes it is. I'm going to enjoy my evening, I hope you do too." Thankfully I manage to sit down without any further harassment but I did feel rather unsettled. I am unsure of the clientele of this place and would like to hear what the staff have to say about this behaviour.
Nice enough but some moody locals on weekend night time with i think was coke being done in the toilet unless the two guys in the cubicle had really bad colds and had the Kleenex out but friendly bar staff and clean hense the higher stars than i would have put as im sure the manager does not know what's going on in the toilet so not his fault.
It's an ok pub, it's under new management at the moment and the staff are friendly and helpful. With the weather getting better, the owner needs to get the bbq out on a weekend,
