Disgusted with this firm! I booked my outward journey online booking a normal Size car for 3 medium size cases and they fitted perfectly and there were no issues. Called at the airport to book our return to mirror our outward journey and was told that we have to upgrade to an estate car for an extra £10 as cases won’t fit in a normal taxi. I said it was fine on the way out, and I have a normal Size car myself and they fit in that. After debating the car, I said I just want to Mirror my outward journey price, so the operator advised they’d send a normal car but if the cases don’t fit we are liable to pay the taxi £6. No problem knew they would fit Taxi arrived, cases all fitted perfectly but the taxi man got really aggressive demanding an additional £10 in front of my children and said the operator had called ahead and warned him about the potential case issue. We stood arguing saying we paid this with your firm, in a similar car on the way out so why are you creating such an issue… they fit!!! He refused to take us unless we paid the extra and was an utter arse! I then took one of the cases out to give to my friend who was getting picked up and said there… it’s now no issue! He then THREW the case back in and said he’s not that petty and if money is tight he’ll honour it money isn’t tight it was principal he really finished our amazing holiday on a low and I’d never recommend these to anyone!!!! How anyone how great customers like this and speak that way in front of young children blows my mind!
Pre-ordered a taxi for work for 8,I don't expect it to be exactly on time but being told it won't be arriving until 8.15-8.20 because the driver who accepted the job is currently on a job is ridiculous. If the firm was busy the operator on the phone should have warned it would be later than 8. When I spoke to them on the phone they really just didn't seem to care or want to do anything to rectify the issue.
The taxi arrived 5 minutes before pick up excellent . I mentioned to the driver that I did not order assistance for myself at the airport. The diver was most helpful and advised me to go and talk eith assistance who arranged a buggy to the aircraft which helped me do much. Thanks for the information given to me by your your taxi driver . Most impressed
Absolutely terrible. Booked a taxi in advance to get to training for cabin crew ON TIME as we can understand is critical. Taxi wasn’t even dispatched until 10 minutes after my pick up time - it arrive 30 minutes late. In turn making me late for my training - not a good look. Also once I was picked up there was 0 apology for the delay, and the driver was almost driving extra slowly, fully stopping at junctions with handbrake up, when there were no passing cars. The fact I have had to pay for this company making me late is shocking.
The driver was great. He turned up on time and was very friendly. However the taxi meter had a fault and was doubling the fare every few seconds. We agreed to pay the normal fare for the journey as we do the same trip every week.
Booked a cab to Crawley station as I commute to London, 20mins before the train is due to leave for what is a 5-8min journey. At the time the taxi is due I get a notification that they are only just “assigning driver”. Call them to see if it’s a mistake but no, they’re running 15minutes behind with no warning. The reason given is “the rain”. You know what country we live in right? In what universe does light rain impact taxis? Missed my train and had to wait 30mins on the next one, and was late to work. No apologies, no proper excuse given, nothing. Absolutely awful shower, won’t bother using again.
I only use Alpha Cars for taxis in the Crawley area such as to Gatwick Airport. I have been with them for years and they are very reliable. My 19 year old daughter uses Uber, but as I am happy with Alpha Cars what is the point in changing? The idea is to simplify your life, not make it more complicated!
Avoid at all costs. Prebooked a large taxi to take the family to the airport. Called Alpha the day to double check they had it still scheduled prev history of them not turning up which they did. On the morning, at the time we were meant to be leaving for the airport, no taxi turned up and no contact from Alpha. When we called them they advised they could no longer send the large car, that they could instead send 2 smaller cars and we would have to agree to the costs of 2 cars. We had no choice due having to catch a plane but we will never use them again. Unreliable, unapologetic and makes the customer pay the cost of their mistakes. Lots of reviews with the same issues. I suspect the 5 star reviews maybe from persons other than real customers!
Booked a taxi for two blind friends from Poundhill to Gatwick for 3am. After several phone calls taxi eventually arrived at 3.45. They were getting very anxious as they are obviously slower moving through the airport. I have used alpha before with no problems but will consider alternatives in future.
We booked a cab 2 weeks ago to take us on a return journey on Christmas Day. We knew this would be a higher cost as it was Christmas Day. We fully explained the required journey and was quoted £45.00 for each journey. On Christmas Eve we received a phone call to advise the cost would be £60.00 each way. When we questioned why we were told the original price was wrong and we were quoted the wrong price, so if we want the cab that’s the price. We obviously needed it and as it was the day before we were a bit stuck. The can arrived on Christmas Day, took us on our journey, dropped us off and confirmed the time to collect us on our return journey. They then phoned 10 minutes later to advise the return journey price had changed and had now gone up to £70.00! When we said this was now increased twice we were told take it or leave it.! The cab arrived to take us home, pulled on the drive, texted to tell us they were outside, we went outside within 3 minutes to find the cab had gone. We phoned and was told the cab was now 8 minutes away! We questioned it was here and why it had gone and was told to just wait!! No apology, explanation, nothing! So now we are standing in the cold and rain with a child because the cab had driven off to take an alternative job. Another can eventually arrived and didn’t know where Hows You? was Going, had no details of the journey. The service from this company was absolutely disgusting. They completely rip people off and take advantage of the fact you need the journey home. I will be making an official complaint to the council regarding their company ethics ans management. I sincerely hope people think twice about using this company. They will rip you off.
