Love the sense of calm and space and how you can sit at a table and look at a new book or two must go back to read some more of Coleridge's poems. Marvellous place.
I went to the library this morning 30th Dec 2023 with my 3 year old grandson as my daughter had ordered a book for him and asked whilst passing if I could pick it up for her. Admittedly I didn't have her library card but I had ID and as part of her surname is still the same as mine I felt this should be sufficient. The super helpful assistant said that as i didn't have her card she couldn't give me the book! Thanks for the great service.
Very helpful librarians. They didn't have the book my daughter wanted and they were able to direct us to find the book using Libby.
The year is 2022 and you aren't allowed to plug your own laptop in as it's not pac tested. However, I'm told other libraries allow that by the staff.... Would avoid if a student looking to simply so work in a quiet location.
Library is great but staff is very loud and constantly talk to each other loudly which makes it very difficult to concentrate.

The staff are very pleasant and efficient. The selection of books is considerable, given the Librarys' size. Their Covid precautions are well thought out.
Very fond memories of this library. Read loads of books here and probably the first time I fell in love with reading. Thank you so much for being a wonderful host. I also made my first email account here way back in 2002
