I visited here today, as Ive been meaning to for a while to try the hot chocolate & it definitely wasn’t a disappointment. Going for a large with whipped chocolate, was absolutely “to die for”. Without a doubt, a place to go, if you want to most perfect hot chocolate. Whilst visiting my mother went for a an iced coffee, & Im sured this also tasted good!
Visited this store last week and heard the staff member have an engaging conversation with the customer before me, including asking if they had a loyalty card and when the customer replied no, the staff member asked her if she’d like to join and listed the benefits. I was served next and treated like I didn’t matter in the slightest. The only conversation I received was the total bill amount and then was asked if I wanted a bag. The lady served before me was a very well presented white woman and then I, a clearly not as well presented in the staff member’s opinion young black woman was served next in the fastest and coldest manner I have ever experienced in any hotel chocolat store. I’ve reported my experience to head office and will absolutely not be shopping here again and certainly discouraging anybody I know to do the same. It’s almost 2023, we really need to be doing better.
Love the chocolate from here however I had a bad customer service which makes me not want to go back. Sounds silly to some but my feelings are valid. Over Christmas they did 2 special drinks with a chocolat stirrer. I wanted one I just didn't like any of the special flavours that came with it. I asked if I could have it with a flavour I liked as myself and my husband didn't like flavours and was told no ! No apologies or care. I just think it wouldn't of hurt.

I found out about Hotel Chocolat from Wuntu and to my surprise they recently opened up in Derby. So I dropped in and decided to take a look around. I was politely greeted and offered some samples of chocolate. We had hot chocolate and an Earl Grey as well, they were all heavenly! The service and products are top-notch. I will be coming back for more of their Earl Grey and Hot Chocolate. I just cannot recommend them enough!
Lovely staff, wonderful selection. I had a hot chocolate and my daughter had a milkshake. We WERE going to go for lunch after but boy-oh-boy were we full after a large drink. I can't even fathom why I was so full, but 100% reccommend a chocolate drink as it'll tide you over til tea also, burping the nicest chocolate taste for the rest of the day is like something from willy wonka and I loved it! Ha ha
The very best ice cream I've ever had in a tub!!!! Thank you to the staff, very polite young ladies. We sat inside. Wonderful.!!!! Or..... Fantastico Fantastico Fantastico Grazie Grazie Grazie XX As I say in Italian.
Super friendly stuff! Had hot chocolate with oat milk vegan- that is hard to find to be honest . Delicious. Expensive though, but ....
Very nice hot chocolate and choccy treats! Expensive but worth it if you like chocolate.
