Lovely, relaxed proper campsite surrounded by woods, nestled into a valley in the South Downs National Park.

Story

Informal accommodation set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the South east, our beautiful campsite right in the heart of the South Downs is only a two minute walk - yet you feel miles from anywhere - from the historic and picturesque village of Alfriston, which have a variety of shops, tea-rooms and pubs.
Basic clean and tidy facilities which make this a real break from hectic living, with friendly staff, there is always a great atmosphere. All for just £7 a night! The site is gently sloping and wooded on each side. So peaceful and very pretty.
You can also rent fire kits for £6, this includes a stand, a drum, kindling and logs.

Just spent a great weekend here. Staff were very friendly and site is clean and well kept. Fires welcome. Toilets and showers are excellent. The area is very beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Myself & friends have visited this campsite twice. The positive points are it is set in a beautiful location & 5 mins walk to Alfriston village. No booking needed which is great. Showers are hot & toilets are okay & kept clean. The guys who pick up the money & drop off wood for fires are helpful & friendly. Unfortunately there is a negative point to make which is, on both occasions on the Saturday night the noise has been pretty awful. Myself & my friend were kept awake until 4am by a large group, swearing & shouting ( no consideration was given to the fact that there were young children on the site). It was so bad that we packed up early & left. It's such a shame as this could be a lovely campsite. I won't be camping there again at weekends.A note to the management - though there is a sign up asking campers to keep noise down after 10.30, this is being completely ignored by some. Maybe a ban on large groups would be an idea. Or someone on site who could check what is going on in the evenings. You would then have happier campers & a much nicer site.

Park up or pitch up and the owner will find you. What I love is the great atmosphere, mixture of age groups and its quite lively during the day and very chilled out and quiet at a reasonable hour. We've been here during the week which is quieter and school holidays which is a bit noisier which is to be expected. There is a tyre swing to keep kids occupied but also lots of walks surrounding the area. Showers are hot, toilets are clean in the shower block.

A very laid back, simple campsite in a beautiful Alfriston area. Competitive prices and freedom to pitch where you like. You can order a fire pit with logs for six quid. Alfriston with its great pubs and inns is just a walk away and famous Seven Sisters cliffs are a short drive from the campsite. Certainly coming back!
