In 1853, the then owners of the land, John and Benjamin Hine, began developing the site. When King Edward the Seventh married Princess Alexandra of Denmark in 1863, the area was named Alexandra Park in honour of their marriage. This small group of residential homes has an active residents association and organises annual events for all residents. These include; Easter Egg Hunts, Summer parties, Christmas Carols on the Spinney and welcoming in the New Year.
