Unlike a lot of other surgeries, Abbey Grange allows you to book appointments more than 48 hours in advance which is helpful. They also have another site in West Park should an appointment not be available at this practice. Staff always professional and helpful. Exactly what I expect from a GP surgery. Excellent work.

Reception staff are diabolical, no customer service skills what so ever. Re training in how to speak to people is a must! Avoid asking a simple questions or trying to gain simple information because your inconviencing them. If you ask why it they place the blame on everyone else. I havent had an actual GP appointment yet, I booked a new patient one and they rang me on the day to ask what I was coming for and if I still wanted the appointment ?! Communication skills overall appalling. I wouldn bother asking for a new patient form your better of going elsewhere.

Incredibly rude and unwelcoming staff - I have just moved to the Kirkstall area so I decided to sign up to the practice as it was closest to my new home. I picked up an application form the day before and brought it in the next morning before setting off to work. Once entering the practice I spoke to one of the receptionists (a short, mature, Indian-looking lady) and handed her my application. She proceeded to read through it quietly, at which point she told me that I had incorrectly marked my ethnicity. I am half Mauritian and half English so I marked the 'mixed race - African/English' box. Mauritius is a very small country in the continent of Africa.. However she believed it wasn't and insisted that I was wrong. I felt completely disrespected and disgusted by her attempt to educate me on my own heritage, yet I didn't express this, and maintained my composure. I hadn't brought a copy of my tenancy agreement so I said I'd bring it in tomorrow and proceeded to leave. I was in a rush to get to work so I didn't notice the disabled button to open the main exit door. Consequently I attempted to open the door the conventional way (using the handle), at which point the other receptionist (a mature, brunette lady with glasses) lent over the main desk and told me to press the button (which was about six feet in front of the door, around a corner), I pressed the button after which point the same receptionist exclaimed "it's really quite obvious!". How incredibly patronising and insulting.. It was my mistake, but obviously I was in a hurry as I didn't want to be late for work and I didn't see the button (which wasn't even on the same wall as the door) but I do not expect to be treat so inappropriately and disrespectfully. I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service at any medical practice before. I will not be returning to Abbey Grange and I would not recommend the practice to anyone else. Hopefully these two poorly trained and unprofessional individuals do not reflect the entirety of the staff there. I find the giant banner outside claiming "New patients welcome" completely ironic.. A more accurate statement would be.. Prepare to be unnecessarily patronised and disrespected at your own risk. Considering it's a doctor's surgery, you would think they would have more of a sensitive and considerate attitude, instead of a pompous one.

Can never get an appointment! Told to ring between 7:30-8:00am for an appointment- finally get through at 9:00 To be told all appointments gone! Complained that the number kept coming up "user busy" on my phone and the receptionist told me that doesn't happen!? It's bad enough trying to get an appointment without being called a liar too!

my family has been with this practice for generations, but sadly now i'm leaving, getting an appointment now is like gold dust! i tried to get both my children an appointment (with breathing difficulties) and was told there was no available appointments until the following week!!! and this was a tues morning! when i asked about emergency appointments apparently they dont 'open' until 2pm so you have to just hope no-one beats you to it! Disgusting! she never even asked how old my children were. This practice is not one i would recommend anymore. It's appointment system is diabolical. AVOID!!!!!!
